A few days after a some brochure images leaked onto the web, Jaguar decided to pull the veil back and show their new XF Sportbrake before this week's Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the XF Sedan, the Sportbrake offers a longer roof and extra space. The space in the Sportbrake totals 19 cubic feet of with the rear seats up, or 59 cubic feet with the rear seats down. To compare, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon has 20.5 cubic feet of with the rear seats up and 57.4 cubic feet with the rear seats down. Also, backseat headroom in the Sportbrake increases by 1.9 inches.

Jaguar says the Sportbrake retains the same rigidity as the sedan and is 154 pounds heavier.

Engines will be a 2.4L four-cylinder and 3.0L six-cylinder diesel engines mated to a eight speed automatic.

Jaguar isn't saying if any of its gasoline engines will lie under the hood of Sportbrake or if its coming to the U.S. (doubting it).
