Spying: Subaru WRX Enjoying The Heat

Subaru WRX Impreza

On the face of it, these spy pictures of a Subaru Impreza undergoing some hot weather testing might not deserve the attention of a news story. Its only when you notice the large vent on the hood that you realize why we're talking about. Say hello the next WRX.

The vehicle in the spy photos looks to be mule for the next generation WRX and underneath the hood is likely the new turbocharged 2.0L Subaru FA engine. We're expecting a modest increase in horsepower and torque from the previous generation WRX.

Why does this give me the feeling that the whole Toyota / subaru coworking agreement is going to water down to dull boring styling for Subaru.

It's possible...

Loving the current hatch though...

definitely the WRX. pretty cool; can't wait to see what it looks like/how it performs, etc.

but why do they bother covering the badges when we all know that they're already-on-the-market Subarus? Especially on the stock GR STi; that's just madness.
