The Pontiac Solstice is no stranger to the show floor at SEMA. Pontiac has previously shown the Solstice Weekend Club Racer in 2005, the Solstice GXP-R in 2006, and the single-seat Solstice SD-290 Concept. last year. For this year, GM's line of performance parts will be shown on the Solstice in coupe form for the first time when the Solstice GXP Coupe Concept is officially unveiled next week in Las Vegas. This customized Solstice shows off GM Performance Parts' Stage 2 performance kit , intake kit, and cat-back exhaust system that boosts horsepower from 260 to 290. The car also features a sportier suspension system, exterior graphics kit, customized leather-trimmed seats, race-style pedal covers, and an iPod interface. More details and live photos soon to come as part of our extensive SEMA 2008 coverage.

I wonder if they will make stage 2 kit a production option. The grapevine is that the coupe will go on sale in February 2009 after its official unveiling at the Detroit Autoshow. Pontiac's website still states that the coupe will make same horsepower and torque as the convertible.

The Stage 2 Kit will be dealer installed and have full warranty if dealer installed. The warranty codes for the dealers have already been issuesd.

This kit will also be available for the Cobalt SS, HHR SS Auto and 5sp and Sky.

I expect the coupe GXP to recieve the 2.1 Tubo in 2010 that will have around 300 HP as well as the other 2.0 turbo cars in GM's line up. Unless they are delayed by the money problems.

NICE!!!

BTW, has anyone seen the VERY AWESOME color print ad in MT this month that showcases all of Pontiac's vehicles and includes a pullout picture of the Solstice Targa and G8?

It even includes the G8 ST, UPDATED G6 and G3

Pontiac has a very nice, well rounded line up now. GM just needs to get the details and marketing right for it to be very successful.

Hey griffon, take a peek at a '70 Trans Am sometime.

That was my first thought. 1970 Trans Am. I love when they dip into heritage colors/themes.

Honeycombe wheels and skirts in front of the wheels would rock the look even more.
