Very Cool, interesting that they say they are working to shrink down the car and yet they seem to have made it wider. I would have to agree that it is an independant rear suspension. I love the concept images, I do hope that is the next mustange as I would be very happy with it.
I do wonder how the inside space will be as the current mustange for 6'6" tall me is very tight and no one can sit behind me.
Will be interesting to see how GM answers this. Especially if they do the EcoBoost v6

At first glance, you might be wondering why pictures of a 2013 Mustang are considered spy shots. It's only when you notice the rear bumper has been trimmed and the bulging fuel cap, you see that this Mustang is hiding something.
According to Motor Trend, that something is the 2015 Mustang. The trimmed rear might indicate a different powertrain or underbody structure. The bulging fuel cap most likely foretells a change to the vehicle’s hard points.
And the big surprise lies underneath this Mustang. It appears the next-generation Mustang could be dropping the solid rear-axle and going towards independent rear suspension.
We'll see what Ford has in store for the next Mustang when its revealed in 2014.
