I kept thinking those numbers were off.

Buick.com:

LaCrosse CX: 3929lbs
LaCrosse CXL: 4026lbs
LaCrosse CXS: 4045lbs

It's a heavy car.

The LaCrosse is obese.

Avalon XL: 3490 lbs
Avalon Limited: 3610 lbs
Genesis V6: 3748 lbs
Genesis V8: 4012 lbs

If GM wants to offer lots of 4-cylinder cars in the pursuit of gas mileage, they better cut the curb weights. I am surprised Buick sells these really, the Genesis is a nicer car, has more power, weighs less, has a longer warranty, etc. But then again, the LeSabre and Park Avenue were successful cars until people found the imports to be better and moved on.

Chevy quotes 8.6 seconds for the 4cyl Equinox. If you get something like 9.5 seconds for the LaCrosse, well, you could race a Corolla at that speed.

Whoops... my bad, a Corolla with a manual is 9.1 seconds 0-60.

Bottom line it just doesn't belong in this car. Seriously the base 3.0 has enough power but certainly isn't over-powered for the car. After drivng a loaded FWD CXL I understand why you might want to opt for the a "stripper" CXS.
