Beautiful job on the changes. That's just what it needed. That and an engine. And a RWD/AWD North/South chassis, not this transverse crap.

Although the XTS is sized around the Merc S-Class, it won’t necessarily be the flagship of Cadillac new range.
Most immediately it will replace both the DTS and STS, but in pricing and positioning it still leaves room above for a super-luxury Cadillac saloon in the mould of the V16-powered Sixeen concept of a few years back.
“A real luxury flagship is still on our wishlist,” says Clay Dean, Cadillac design chief.

That quote says it all, 98.

The XTS is no flagship.

But why invest the money in two models? A RWD car with a softer suspension would do the trick... Unless the wish list is to be a permanent one, i.e., GM won't develop a large RWD car for Cadillac...

Give it a try. Beating others is the mother of invention.

DF you've taken it from stubby to stunning with these subtle changes, its amazing how something seemingly so simple ( a little extra length) can transform an overall design. Now this is a flagship. GM get on the damn ball and do whatever needs to be done to implement these changes before production.

I agree. It's amazing what RWD proportions and some extra length does to this car. It's morphed from slightly awkward and inappropriate to beautifully stunning. Good job Dodgefan.
