Automakers try their best to keep their upcoming cars under wraps - literally and psychically. However, with a click of a shutter or a mouse, the secret they were try to keep is now out in the world.

Such could the case with the next generation Corvette. Omega Tool Corp., a Tier One supplier for GM recently put out a video on how they mold the plastic bumper cover for the Corvette. This video normally wouldn't be making everyone go crazy, except this bumper cover isn't for a C6. The one shown in the video carries many of the cues shown on the Stingray concept in 2009. This has caused people to speculate that happens to be for the C7.

Since then, the video has been pulled by Omega, which has only added fuel to fire of it being for the C7. We're not quite ready to jump on that bandwagon, but it does leave us with some questions of whats in store for the next Corvette.

Yup, that bumper cover matches the one on Jalopnik's rendering for the Corvette C7 that was posted over there a good number of moons ago...

Call me cynical, but I mostly think of these sort of events as deliberate.

In some cases they do leak what they want to show. But in this case it was just a screw up. GM has pretty much gotten to the point they do not show much of anything till they are a little closer to release anymore.

After seeing the drawings last fall that pretty much nailed the design this photo gives the nose a little more depth. It looks like the nose is a little more Ferrari like with a Corvette tone.

As to how much there is to see here is based on how much of the real car you have seen. The Jalopnik drawing I tried to post here pretty much told the tale that was confirmed by the winter test photos. This one here just give the idea on more of the details on the real body shape.

Not a big deal but if you add it up it gives some idea on how the body will changes will look. The greater changes will be from the doors back.

I like the Video at point 1:15 when you can clearly see the new Rear Facia for the C7. It is not radical different, but it is a nice evolution from the C6.

Over all, I am glad they are keeping the sting ray concept alive in the C7!!!

Jalopnik just got a nasty letter from a lawyer representing the tool company saying basically "Take this down or we'll sue."

You guys get anything like that yet?

Anyway, they shouldn't really have a case, because the liability falls on the person who leaked it in the first place.
