When we last checked in on the Alfa Romeo Giulia, it was being delayed due to the engines not being ready in time. Before this, it was due to design and manufacturing issues.
Now, Autocar has some information on what we can expect with the new Giulia. To be launched sometime in 2014, the Giulia will be a part of a revival plan that includes the 4C and Spider. The Giulia will utilize an updated version of the Dodge Dart's platform. Those updates include a longer-wheelbase and a new independent rear suspension.
Powertrains are expected to include turbocharged gas four-cylinders, diesels, and Chrysler's Pentastar V6. All-wheel-drive is also in the cards.
No one at the moment knows what the Giulia will look like, only that the design is expected to be finalized sometime in the fall and a concept to appear next year.

Am I missing something or is the red car in the photo not the concept that everyone loved for the most part? Why a new concept before moving forward?
That red car is the Alfa Romeo 159, what the Giulia will be replacing
Boy talk about getting confused on their cars. No wonder I like to stick with American.
