Toyota attempting to get Youth to drive again!

Jean Reno, is currently working for Toyota to try and get Japanese kids to drive again, particularly sports cars. Noble effort. Also, he's Doraemon, the coolest man in the known universe.

So with this effort, what do you think of Toyota's attempt to get youth to drive again and buy cars?

Should the rest of the auto makers also spend more time on courting youth to drive again?

Cubical then you are just talking about a Robotic Car and no real driving experiance or enjoyment. Might as well just put a bullet in personal transportation and make all take mass transit.

I really hate the idea of self driving cars on the roads when I go out to enjoy a drive.

Not the case in Japan..

Anyways, transit is so developed and cars are so expensive to own over there, the transition in interest to tech gadgets, fashion, travel etc at the expense of things like cars is just further ahead than here.

The youth are driving, but they are buying Kias and Hyundais, not Toyotas.

When teenagers are looking at cars they are really only looking at price. I don't know one teenager that might look at a car and think they want a v6 or v8 or care about their engine at all. They want GPS, air conditioning, and a sleek interior. If toyota is trying to sell to youth and Japan they need to capitalize on what they want. Youth usually wants to look cool with sleek colors and designs. Toyota is known for being dependable and well-made. Do you know any wild, recklass people driving in Camrys and Corollas? They would need to alter their image to get more teens interested.
