JAGUAR LAND ROVER REPORTS U.S. SALES FOR MAY 2014

  • Jaguar Land Rover North America sales increase 17 percent in May, for its best May sales month result since 2007
  • Land Rover brand has its best May sales month ever with a 28 percent increase over 2013
  • Range Rover Evoque sales increase 59 percent for May
  • Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe went on sale in May leading to new high in monthly F-TYPE sales
  • Jaguar sales up 14 percent for the year

(MAHWAH, NJ) – May 1, 2014 – Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported May 2014 U.S. sales: Land Rover sales reached an all-time May high of 4,536 units, up 28 percent from 3,554 units in May 2013, and for the year, up 13 percent with 22,148 units from 19,516 units. Jaguar sales were 1,304 units, down 9 percent from 1,435 units in May 2013, and for the year up 14 percent with 7,054 units from 6,161 units.

Jaguar Land Rover North America May U.S. sales for both brands hit 5,840 units, a 17 percent increase from 4,989 units in May 2013. For the year 2014, Jaguar Land Rover North America is up 14 percent with 29,202 units sold from 25,677 units in 2013.

"Jaguar Land Rover continues to have momentum across multiple car lines driving our U.S. monthly sales up 17 percent with Land Rover achieving its highest May sales ever,” said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “The Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport were top performers this month, and the addition of the Coupe model helped the Jaguar F-TYPE have its best sales month since debuting last year.”

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

Land Rover achieved an all-time May sales high this year reflecting the overall sustained momentum of the brand in the U.S.

The all new Range Rover Sport hit a record May high of 1,496 units, up 35 percent from 1,105 in May, 2013. The new Range Rover Sport has received multiple awards for its breadth of capability including Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road ‘4x4 of the year’ and Road & Track’s ‘Best Cars’ list in the SUV category.

The Range Rover Evoque continues to grow in popularity, hitting 1,196 units, a 59 percent increase from 751 units in May 2013, for its best May sales month ever.

Jaguar

The Jaguar brand is up 14 percent for the first five months of 2014 driven by demand for the new F-TYPE sports car, including this month for the first time, convertible and coupe models. Jaguar XK sales have also increased in 2014 with 701 sales YTD versus 669 units in 2013. The coming 2015 Model Year will be the final version of this iconic Jaguar GT.

F-TYPE total sales for May, 2014 were 431 units, dramatically up from 159 units in 2013 when the convertible was launching. F-TYPE Coupe sales hit 236 units and Convertible sales hit 195 units. The F- TYPE Coupe launch campaign, British Villains, kicked off with Jaguar’s first advertisement in the broadcast of the Super Bowl. The 60-second spot, “Rendezvous,” has become Jaguar USA’s most popular YouTube video ever with 11.5 Million views.
