Consumer reports Recommends Ram over Ford or Toyota trucks

Interesting but in looking through the MSN auto section, they had this video by Inside Cars where they show some cool things like Tesla battery swap process, but better yet, is that Consumer Reports who has been Anti-American on Auto's supposedly just gave Ram Trucks the coveted Recommended Buy over Ford or Toyota Trucks. They also Recommend Chevy Impala as the best buy in America.

So what do you think?

I think they're probably right.

On the Impala it is probably the best value for your dollar even though it costs more than an Altima or Optima.  It is much more solid and drives great. They don't feel "disposable" like the others I mentioned.

The Ram rides better than the current F-150 and has a great selection of engines. UConnect is better than MyFordTouchedMeInMyNoNoPlace. The Ram's 8-Speed auto is fantastic.

Consumer Reports isn't 'anti-American.' It's anti-Anusgarbagebutts.

When GM, Ford and Chrysler built cars that were Anusgarbagebutts, they got bad reviews. Since they decided to make vehicles that aren't Anusgarbagebutts, they're getting good reviews.

I miss the days of when C&G was all 'OMG TEH MEDIUH IS BIASSED!!1!' When's the last time we heard that ol' chestnut?

CR got smacked for their biases a few years back, rating the Prizm and Corolla differently, assuming good reliability on new Japanese models and then having to issue retractions. Rating Hummers as poor due to poor fuel economy. Missing major issues with certain favorite imports because they were under-reported by owners....

They changed their methods a bit since then.

Our Encore can't decide it's nationality....   German designed, Korean built, American branded.

And still fantastic. The styling vibe on it with its bulldog Stace and wheels pushed towards the corners reminds me of my MINI. My local Buick dealer may be getting my Miata in trade on one. I like the Encore much better than the Focus ST I test drove last year.

Public perception has changed also. American cars are orders of magnitude better than they were even 5 years ago, while most Asian cars have remained stagnent or gotten worse. If anything cars like the Civic have possibly gotten a little worse.

Some real truth here, but they are still biases. Subaru is the new Consumer reports messiah, and while they are great cars they are over rated by CR. An uncomfortable number of issues being found with subie motors as of late, some really bad paint quality on some of their cars, the CVT tuning is less than optimal...

You get the picture.
