BMW Shows the New Face of The 4-series with the BMW Concept 4

...My what a big grille you have...

BMW released a preview of the BMW Concept 4 for the Frankfurt Auto Show today.  The concept features a large vertical grille that will become the new face of the BMW 4-series. The slim headlights have no glass cover allowing a sculptured look to the LED elements. The 4-series features a stretched out hood, long wheelbase, and short overhangs to give an elegant and sporty appearence while the wheel arches contribute to a powerful stance.

BMW did not give any hints as to the powertrain, but the 4-series currently comes in 248 horsepower, 320 horsepower, and 425 horsepower flavors.

This low slung concept is clearly an early look at the next 4-series refresh coming in about a year.

Telling that theres no head-on front shot.

BMW has no stylistic rudder. The basic shape is good here, but the grille/front fascia and whatever it's giving birth to out its rear needs an overhaul.

Doesn't really matter; another concept soon to be tarped in the warehouse, forever.

Great side profile, the horsepower part they got right, the grille is way wrong.  That grille won't make production though.

Are you sure about that?  That grille made the new X8.   What makes you think that BMW will stop at the X8?

They should make a grille that is as high as the top of the roof that you can see through.  A 5 foot high grille is probably good for crash protection.

There are front shots, you just have to flip through the pictures.

    That's the current 4-series horsepower.

Oh right, well I think the 3-series is 255 hp and 385 hp, that I assume will carry over, probably 475 in the M3/M4.  Power we know won’t be an issue with a BMW.

the more I look at this grille, the more I hate it.

I feel that you would pick this up and slam that nose onto a tough piece of beef to tenderize it. :dizzy:

Fiat is bringing the Concept Centoventi to the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas.  The concept previews the next generation Panda and the name means 120 in Italian in honor of the brand's 120 year history.  The Panda is the mini-car platform used by the Fiat 500 in the U.S.
The Concept Centoventi is designed to be a "blank canvas" ready to be painted to suit owner's needs and desires at any time, without being stuck with the color chosen at purchase. It is produced in only one color and then the customer "paints" the vehicle using Fiat's 4U program that allows for four roof options, four bumper cover options, four wheel cover options, and four exterior wrappings.  Various interior options like storage compartments, seats, and child-restraint systems are interchangeable and installed in a plug-and-play fashion by the customer.
The powertrain is electrified and can be equipped with different batteries to vary the range from 60 miles to 300 miles.
The Concept Centoventi has a small screen in the windshield facing outward to display messages while a larger rear tailgate display can also display messages or while in motion, just the Fiat logo.

Fiat Chrysler is bringing a slew of concepts to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that all feature some sort of electrification.
The centerpiece of their display will be the 2020 Airflow Vision concept.  While not specifically branded as a Chrysler, the Airflow Vision does take the name of a full-size Chrysler model produced from 1934 - 1937.  FCA calls it a "sculptural design concept" that envisions the next generation of premium transportation.  The interior user experience is designed to be captivating. FCA put a lot of work into showing a sophisticated appearance that can be personalized and customized to individual needs.
The cabin offers multiple interfaces, one behind the steering wheel, two on the center console, one for the front passenger, and two more for the rear passengers. Information can be shared between the screens by swiping.  The interior is said to be the same size as the Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in and has a flat load floor. In spite of all that room, it only has 4 seats set up in a lounge chair fashion to maximize legroom, shoulder room, and storage space for each passenger. Premium suedes and leathers, along with ambient lighting make the ride a first-class experience.
The exterior of the Airflow Vision has an aggressive stance with bodywork reaching almost to the ground. The wheels hint at the use of electric motors, but no powertrain information was provided.

    • Totally agree with you on the Blackwing and the over complicated Turbo mess these engines are. Love your Microblock family idea. That I would sell to GM, Go Go Dwight!
    • Yet Feature function of the Rivian pickup is on par with ICE Pickups. Audi e-tron is highly priced for the new tech, but then all new things are.
    • Yes, but at least 50% of Americans are imbeciles in general, I see no point in trying to communicate with them...fuck them..live and let die.
    • Sadly that same ignorance is what got us the First and Third Reich. Blindly following ignorant Narcissistic idiots is what leads to the downfall of Society.  We have to continue to push via discussions otherwise we are doomed our selves. Change is never easy for those that are lazy, yet change is what allows Humanity to thrive and improve. Only You are Fooling yourself. As I have stated, when they have EVs that fit me, I will happily change out my Full size SUV for one and Rivian just might be it. Awaiting the coming EVs to decide what to get once I can actually sit in one and drive it. As far as the Wife, if you actually had a life partner who you cared about and wanted to be happy, you would understand making sure she has options to pick from. As is, cheaper right now to fill the gas tank till the option she likes comes about. This is called putting others before yourself! The facts if YOU ACTUALLY READ show over time the life of EVs sales has grown and will continue to grow. No short period and no this is not the first time cars have been sold.  Amazing your flimsy excuses with no facts or discussion, just static status quo. Humanity dies with this type of thinking. Enjoy your life.
    • I dunno; the Europeans seems to make copying American hi-powered V8s work for them.
