Cadillac Announces XT5 Crossover To Debut At Dubai

Cadillac's XT5 Crossover To Debut At Dubai

Cadillac announced today that the XT5 - replacement for the SRX crossover - will be making its worldwide debut at the Dubai Motor Show in November. Following this, the new Cadillac crossover will head to the LA Auto Show for its North American debut.

"The XT5 will be the cornerstone of a series of crossovers bearing the 'XT' designation," the automaker said in a statement.

The XT5 has some big shoes to fill as the SRX was Cadillac's most popular model sold worldwide. Previous reports has the SRX using a 2.0T four-cylinder and 3.6L V6 for power, and being available with front or all-wheel drive.

In terms of being very nouveau chique, this XT5 really looks the part.

But I myself am very familiar with the hard edges and sharp creases of Art and Science. This'll take some time getting used to. Funny how it's now the Cadillac and Lincoln products that are restrained in their style compared to the new ostentatious RX line. But I like the boldness; so I'm hoping Cadillac really delivers a knockout interior.

But whenever I see the front end of this thing, I see a resemblance to a Decepticon logo.

Dubai seems very likely to be a nod toward globalization; you'd expect Cadillac to debut in NYC or Detroit and this flies in the face of that. Purposefully.

I was thinking about that....about globalization.

In my opinion, the Escalade V seems like a better fit for Dubai and Paris for the XT5.

    Why?

These Middle Eastern guys love their hugely arrogant vehicles that just guzzle that oil of theirs, and an Escalade V is just that...

    Paris for the XT5...

The XT5 ....c'est mignon...its cute...and Europeans like small and cute.

But in retrospect...Dubai is just fine...Im just making stupid small talk.

    I change my mind.

I came across this pic...maybe Dubai IS the place for the T5 to debut.

Nothing says prestige in 2015 as having a couple of star studded press shots with Sheikhs around your car....
