    Rock on AWESOME :metal:

Will say I find it funny that they have listed Rhino color as Exclusive when you can get it on the Altitude edition as my son has it. Also, surprised by some of the options. I would have thought these kinds of options would be included in this as a no options top of the line ride.  Honestly who is gonna race this as a stripped SUV race auto?

Still love that this is available. :D

Truly a last Hurrah for FCA as I expect many EV CUV's in the next year to Trump this Trackhawk. Then they will have to cut the price in half to just sell them.

Cool stuff if you want a super power Grand Cherokee.

FCA doesn't have new products though, so this is also done to serve as a distraction that they are putting new stuff out there.  But this makes sense, easy money to put a Hellcat in something and charge a lot of money for it, might as well cash in now before CAFE gets really tough in 2020 and before EVs take over.

A Durango Hellcat would make sense for someone wanting a 3rd row, as well as a Ram pickup Hellcat.    A Ram ProMaster Hellcat would be cool, but unlikely given the amount of work to fit the engine.  May as well go out over the top..

If the ProMaster and Pacifica weren't front wheel drive, I'm sure they'd make a Hellcat version to spur on sales.

Half of Mercedes SUVs are based on he same damned platform and have seen the same degree of updates since 11..

I doubt that.  Also, no idea where 2.8 is coming from, I see 3.3, but I doubt the tesla will still be ahead at the 1/4 mile mork once actual tests are done and I know it will not come anywhere near the top speed.  The model X also posts less G on the skidpad and is riddled with issues.  it is also smaller than the GC with far less room inside and the "Falcon doors"  have proven to suffer from massive issues.

Can't really compare a Tesla to a Jeep.  The Model X is just a tall hatchback sedan w/ stupid doors, not a proper SUV. or even a CUV..

As far as the 8 different GC variations go, the Trackhawk doesn't really appeal to me..if I were buying a new one, I'd rather have a Summit or Trailhawk..better all around for real world use.

Pretty awesome that they are doing it.. But from a longivity point of view, what exactly is FCA going to do to not just be this one trick pony of relying on a big engine in expensive vehicles that do nothing for their mainstream intentions?

New Wrangler, Wagoneer, new ram, new LX replacements coming on the Alfa romeo platform, The new engine family which is already in the Giulia which is really impressive in in acceleration/destroying EPA fuel economy figures, the Pacifica is top in the Van segment as far as features, room, drivability, FE, just got a new Compass, a major refresh is coming for the Cherokee, etc, etc, etc.  Oh, and the Wrangler pickup which is guaranteed to be a hit.

Exactly my point in another thread. It is not even close to an SUV and barely qualifies as a CUV.

Me too.  i really love the fact the Jeep pickup is upcoming and the fact the Wrangler has the 3.0 Ecodiesel on the option list, the truck should too.

In love with the Trailhawk here.  Seeing tons of them on the road.  I like the way they started out with an excellent vehicle in the 11 GC and they have made minor changes nearly every year that has kept it fresh and made it so much better. Of course something capable of off-road interests me much more these days than the most HP.

I love my '14 GC Limited...maybe in a few years I'll replace it with a GC Trailhawk or Summit... my tastes skew more towards the luxury side than off-road capability (though if I were still in Colorado I'd definitely go for the Trailhawk).

It's going to be interesting to see how the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer turns out..what I've read is it will be BOF based on the NG Ram, in two wheelbases...basically a Jeep Yukon competitor...that would be a neat thing to see..

Jeep simply hit the current GC out of ballpark and it is going to be very hard to improve upon for the next gen.  I am having of-road withdrawals because i finally managed to either lose a ball bearing or possibly need an axle for the Dakota.

Long term FCA is going to have to invest in new platforms and new models.   Unless their end game is really to sell Jeep and Ram and shutter Chrysler and Dodge...

That is probably the plan.  They definitely don't need Dodge and Chrysler and it is possible that neither one would be profitable if they actually had to develop new cars.

Jeep makes something like 75% of FCA's profit, and that is with them putting almost no money into the LX cars or Journey in the last 10 years.  If they didn't have Dodge and Chrysler, Sergio would have found a merger partner already.

Will Agree while it would be sad to see Chrysler and Dodge die, there are way too many name plates and you might as well just consolidate and clean house. Europe loves the stupid terrible Fiat, so that will not go but then FCA could have saved a bundle on not wasting time with Fiat or trying to bring back Alfa and just invested in Dodge for the US.

Jeep and Ram are and should be here long term. I question the future of Dodge and Chrysler. Time to bite the bullet and clean house if FCA is to survive.

What?  they put billions in the Journey in 11 and then billions in the LX line in 11 and then again in 15 when they got rid of the rest of substandard Daimler hardware.

Billions seems a bit high..the Journey is on an old Mitsu platform, isn't it?  It had a trivial refresh in '11.

I see Chrysler getting the boot eventually, but not Dodge.  With the Demon, Widebodies, and continued funding to the Durango, they show a definite interest in keeping it around and sales ARE enough to justify this.  I can the Pacifica easily being moved over to the Dodge line and the Charger getting a higher luxury version to take place of the 300.

Maybe a billion or so.  It is based on the Avenger, old 200, Patriot, Caliber, etc platform.  They did do major work with new powertrains, and a new interior, and a new Electrical system that allows it to run the larger touch screen and current gen Uconnect instead being stuck with what is not generations old tech like the Patriot, Wrangler, Avenger, etc has/had

I could see the Pacifica as a Dodge, the 300 could exist as a separate Dodge model above the Charger, maybe renamed Monaco or Polara... (but not Dynasty.. ;))

That is a good point  Maybe a stretched version?  Or was it the first gen that had the stretched 300 in some markets?

There was a LWB 300 of the '05-10 version, may have been available in the US for black car services..not sure.

Right and 6-7 years is a typical life cycle of a car, meaning there should be an all new Journey on sale for 2018.  FCA has very little money going into Dodge/Chrysler right now.

    • I have to say that I am very excited by this potential competitor to the Cadillac EscaladeIQ. Both Full size Luxury SUVs. Interiors Yes I know the Genesis is a concept and the suicide doors and flip chairs will not make it to production, but I do hope those chair designs do as they look very comfy and supportive. I have to say that I really like the exterior styling of the Genesis even more than the Escalade.
    • Yeah, it doesn't seem super space efficient.
    • So three major problems with this car, one, terrible Jellybean external shape, not impressed at all with the style. Second is the buttonless dash having everything via a touch screen and rotary knob, terrible safety issue as your eyes will be off the road more than on trying to find the right option in the right menu. Third is the center pack clearly cuts into valuable leg space based on their own picture. This is a hard pass.
    • Great Masculine shape, really digging the style they did here.
    • First seen at the Shanghai Auto Show (see article: Polestar 4 - The New Breed of Electric SUV Coupe), Polestar brought the Polestar 4 to the New York International Auto Show for North Americans to see in person. Polestar calls the Polestar 4 an "electric SUV 4-door coupe". Outside of that marketing speak, the Polestar 4 is a slightly lifted four-door hatchback about 190 inches in length, or roughly 2 inches shorter than a Toyota Camry.  Built without rear glass, the Polestar 4 makes use of a rear camera for visibility astern. Polestar 4 features a plethora of standard content, including 20-inch 5 V-spoke black diamond cut alloy wheels, panoramic glass roof, adaptive cruise control, 360 parking camera with 3D view, energy saving heat pump, front-illuminated Polestar logo, e-latch doors, power-operated tailgate with soft close, Polestar digital key, wireless phone charging, and 8-way electrical driver seat and 6-way electrical passenger seat.
