Buick

Founded in 1903 by David Dunbar Buick, Buick is one of America’s oldest automobile brands and the oldest active division of General Motors (GM). Known for pioneering innovations like the overhead valve engine, Buick became a symbol of affordable luxury throughout the 20th century. It played a key role in GM’s growth and today positions itself between Chevrolet and Cadillac, offering premium vehicles in both the U.S. and China—its largest market.

Has anyone else here signed up for the Lucerne V.I.P. Premiere Night that's being held tonight (Tue., Dec. 13th)? Select Buick dealers are holding this event for those who previously registered on Buick's Web site. Strange thing is the Buick dealer right around the corner from me isn't, but I have to drive about 15 miles or so to another dealer. My baby is sick, so I'm not sure if the wife will let me go, but I was wondering how many C&Ger's were going.

Sajeev Mehta has written a review of the Buick LaCrosse CXL for the truthabout cars.com. To read the review, click here. It is not a positive piece, declaring the vehicle a "rental car" that is bested by Hyundai. EDIT AFTERTHOUGHT: Now that I've read it over several times, I find the review insulting and amateurish. They can think the LaCrosse is a good or bad car, that's their opinion. I'm saying the writing style is nasty and less than professional. I presume that the author is not a professional journalist.

I know we've had a LaCrosse eAssist reviewed before but does anyone have experience with an eAssist Regal? Sounds whack but there are some 2014's on the used market here for about 18,5 and about 15k miles on them. Wonder about real mpg and if any reliability issues. Might be an option for a daily driver for me that I did not consider before. Otherwise thinking about Passat 1.8, Malibu, fusion etc as well as some smaller cars. Regal would be a huge upgrade.

My first choice was ming blue for my new Lucerne CXL but there was none anywhere.... I also have never seen this color in the LeSabre which I had previously. If this color is never used then why is it in the lineup? I think it makes a very regal looking automobile and especially would look great on the Lucerne. I did not want to wait to order one in the ming blue so got my second choice of Crimson Pearl... Just thought someone might have some statistics on this! Thanks!

After checking their website, I trekked into my local Buick/GMC dealer to check out the new 2013 Encore. It made me all googly-eyed... it's that cool, imo. In Brilliant Blue with Ebony cloth, it was a FWD Convenience model with the 5-spoke wheels. Very stylish. A bit nose-heavy in design, and tiny as heck, with big looking wheels (18" standard), it certainly has an attitude in its stance, with a beautiful interior. And it is not as "old" as it seemed in photos. How can it be described? Jaunty AND authoritative, even with its diminutive stature... it is a one-of-a-kind vehicle. I owned Buick's all my life. Always traded them in for new models every two or three years. Recently I moved on to something else when they did away with the LeSabre. Went to the Buick garage last week to have "Auto Butler" applied to my present car TCH and the service person took me to work in a new Lacrosse. I was shocked trying to enter the car. I practically knocked my head off on the roof because it was so extremely low. If this is what Buick classifies as their big car then I shall never own another Buick. Getting out was just as hard without knocking off the top of my head. Rise the roof level so people can enter and exit the car without a headache!

The only glitch I noticed with the interior fit and finish was the intrument panel was installed about 1/8 inch too high on the left side so it does not line up with the door trim. Oddly, my 2008 Allure has the same problem. The body structure appears to be very ridgid with good ride and handling characteristics. Steering is good. The powertrain is very smooth. The five-seater is built on the Delta compact-car platform. Why use the Delta platform (which is on the Chevy Cruze) rather than Theta-Epsilon (which is a second-generation SRX)? Let's see if I can narrow these down clearly and consisely for ya: 2009 Buick Lucerne CXL Options include: heated/cooled seats, harmon/kardon radio, heated wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, bluetooth, chromed 17" wheels. It's a 2009 so it has the 3900, 4-automatic. Currently available with this package (which makes it enticing for me to try an "older" car). $18,995, 34K miles, could prob talk them down a bit. 2010 or 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXL Either the 3.0L or 3.6L V6. Satisified with what would be included on the CXL trim so I wouldn't need to shop around for a special package. For around $26,995-27,995, at approximately 13-15K miles. Situation: job is unst…

Buick Riviera Concept Revealed Images have leaked online of the new Buick Riviera concept, which is to be revealed at the Shanghai auto show this week. Designed at the GM Pan Asia Technical Center, the car is yet another stylish Buick designed by GM's China design team. The Riviera is supposed to showcase Buick's forthcoming global design language for Buick, and the coupe will tour the world after the Shanghai show closes. Unfortunately, there aren't any major American autoshows left, leaving GM without a place to properly showcase such a concept in the US until late this year. The teaser picture released by Buick shows off a rakish back window and a taillight that runs the full length of the rear. "The Enspire leverages GM’s global resources and is an exploration of design and new technologies. It is the brand’s latest example of innovation and application of future electric smart mobility," Buick said in a press release. We're not surprised that Buick is showing off an electric concept in China. Last year, Chinese buyers bought 1.18 million Buick models - compared to the 219,231 sold in the U.S. China is also pushing automakers to build electric veh…

Okay, so I know you have to deal with dealers to cut down pricing, but as I was looking at the Lucernce CXL V6, I begin to wonder how they think they would get away with it. Let me explain, First off, isn't the heated and cooled drivers seat including in the CXL V6 Packages? (at least the site of gmbuypower nor Buick.com tries to price you on, but the brochures and comparison charts say they have them). Needless to say the dealers are adding $1,075.00 for this. (if this isn't the case how come you can't build this on Buick.com or GmBuypower.com but get a shock with an extra $1,000 when you search dealer inventory?) 68. LaCrosse tweaked after rare one-star rating Harry Stoffer | Link to Original Article @ Automotive News | February 13, 2007 - 3:01 pm WASHINGTON - General Motors has altered the trim on the inside of the driver's door of the 2007 Buick LaCrosse because the car earned the lowest possible score in a government side-impact crash test. "We were surprised and disappointed" with the one-star rating, GM spokesman Alan Adler said. GM made the midmodel-year change in the door trim of cars on the assembly line last month, Adler said. The company will ask that the car be retested, he said. But for the moment, the one-star rating remains in the information made available to c…

  74. We have been wondering what the next-generation Buick Enclave would look like and now we have a general idea. Automotive News got their hands on some new spy shots showing an Enclave test mule sitting at a gas station. It appears Buick has made the Enclave less bulbous than the current model. The front end features Buick's new waterfall grille that debuted on the LaCrosse and a set of slim headlights. For the back, there's a new set of taillights and dual-exhaust system. If the Chevrolet Traverse is anything to go by, the Enclave will get the current 3.6L V6 producing 305 horsepower hooked up to a nine-speed automatic. There is the possibility of a 2.0L turbo-four wi…

Saw an ad today for the Buick LaCrosse while reading my Hispanic Business magazine and noticed something that made me laugh. The ad shows the LaCrosse CXS and ES 350 side by side and has a list of features and awards, but the very last line says "Desaceleracion del vehiculo robado" It basically translates to "stolen vehicle slow down." It then says "no disponable" (not available) under the ES and "OnStar/ 1 ano estandar" (one year standard) under the Buick. I know GM has been advertising this for a while now, but it made me think of the ES's acceleration issue... Made me wonder if it was meant to be a slap in the face...

Well, I just came back from a 400mi trip in the Lexus ES 350 and here are my thoughts. 1) At 75mph, the Lexus ES has SIGNIFICANTLY more wind noise than a "Quiet Tuned" Lucerne. 2) The ES has a lot of road noise on coarse pavement, more than a Lucerne on any pavement I drove on. 3) Stomp the throttle for passing and the ES gives a muted howl, its much quieter than the Lucerne at WOT. So I stand by my words, the Lucerne is a quiet car on the highway, provided you don't get on the gas much. The Lucerne needs an engine as quiet as the Lexus ES to fit my definition of "quiet tuning."

I purchased a 2007 Buick Lucerne with 17500 miles a couple of months ago. It is a CXL with the 3.8 engine. The car has developed an annoying hesitation when driving at 40-50 mph. The car hesitates/pings/groans unless you give it a bit more gas to turn off the overdrive. The problem is most noticable when using 87 octane gas but it still present when running 93 octane. I've run Techron through the system thinking perhaps the injectors were dirty but that didn't help. The check engine light is not on. To make matters worse the gas peddle vibrates as the car hesitates. I don't notice the problem when driving around town or when on the highway at 65+ mph. I'…

I find it ridiculous there's no way to unlock the trunk from the inside of the car. If I have someone running to the car in the rain with their hands full, I have to get out of the car to open the trunk for them and get wet myself, OR shut the car off to use the fob (the trunk release doesn't work on the fob if the car is running).
