Too bad it's way out of my price range, as I'd love this '91 (or even a '92) Chevrolet Caprice LTZ Sedan.

  15. Also found a couple of rare Blue Oval products sold only in Canada. From what I understand the Meteor brand was much like the Canada only Acadian brand which was paired with Pontiac dealers except this one was slotted between Ford and Mercury. Here are two examples, the first is a 1958 Meteor Rideau, and the second a 1968 Meteor Montcalm convertible. I like the Canadian-inspired names of these cars (The Rideau Canal and Rideau Hall in Ottawa and General Montcalm was the French General who led that side in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, the Acadian Canso from GM got its name from a couple places in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia). 1958 Rideau 500 http://alberta.k…

Maybe. I have been quietly continuing the search for a plow truck to replace the ROPOS, and I went to see and drive this truck today: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3265427508.html Not at all what I really want , but it is the only truck I've looked at that doesn't have serious rust issues. It won't tow and haul the way I'd like, and pushing a heavy snow might be a challenge, but time is short and I haven't found much else. The only real concern I have with this truck is the mismatch of the body lines between cab and bed. It can be seen in the pics, and measures about an inch. What I don't know is why. I don't know if it is just trashed cab mounts (they seem …

His "wants" include the Jeep Wrangler, Cadillac DTS, and Pontiac Grand Prix ('97-'03) - and the price range he's in is around $2500 now (however I think one of the grandparents may contribute, and he recently took on a 2nd job). He sends me the DTS above that he found on CL, asking me what I think about this one. I know from here that the Northstar engine is not a recommended engine, but what other issues may this year DTS suffer from that might make this car not a great purchas…

http://reading.craig...3293420447.html I've been watching this very interesting 1979 GMC Sierra. A little gawdy in the color (green), the hood, cap, rims, and front fender extensions all reek of '70s street performance. However, the biggest issue I have with this truck is the "Sierra Grande" trim. I don't believe this truck is a true representation of that trim, as it appears to have more equipment per that trim/package. I'm wondering if it's a true Sierra Grande with additional items put on during its last restoration, or if it is wearing the wrong emblems? I will try to contact the seller for a picture of the RPO Service Label to verify.

Couldn't help but take pics of a rough but solid '66 El Camino for sale while at a rest stop on the way to the Grand Canyon. It was located at an antique gas station in Hackberry, AZ right on Route 66. I have some more old iron pics that I'll probably post in the lounge. I'm not sure how one would handle the "no title" thing - I thought pre-1973 cars had no title and only needed a bill of sale as proof of ownership. At least that is how it is in NYS.

A friend of mine from the fire station buys his vehicles from a partiuclar Dodge dealership in southern NJ; he bought himself a 2012 Ram 2500 Power Wagon this year, upgrading from his 2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4WD. He mentioned to me on more than one occasion that the dealer owner is a fire truck enthusiast and had amassed a small collection of vintage fire trucks. Not having any partiuclar need for them, after a few years of ownership and storing outdoors on the dealer lot, he decided to sell them off. He took a picture of one he though I'd like, which he thought was a Chevy, and sent it to me last month. I've been meaning to go online and check it out, finally doing it…

I've really been into the '73-'79 GMC Sierra pickups the last two years, even to the point I'm window shopping more of them than the '55-'57 GMCs I so desire. Here's an interesting color combo I haven't seen in my spottings: Here's the link with 11 more pictures (no interior shots though). Wish I had $10k available and the means to get this back to the east coast LINK: http://www.autoshopper.com/used-trucks/1979_GMC_Sierra_Classic_Bellevue_WA-21548430.htm

I may contact the seller just to come see & photograph it, God knows I don't have the cash (plus not thrilled it was converted to a 4WD). I do question the "raised roof" comment, as it appears stock height to me from the pictures provided.

Whole: $1500 (but no title). Parts available: everything but motor/ trans/ radiator (only a later 350). Lots of solid sheet metal & stainless, no notable options. Has desirable BOP front-loader rear- heavily sought after for vintage drag cars. Seats were re-upholstered, but not factory & not exactly appealing. Hate to break this one up since it still oozes personality & class.... but not my decision/ car. Located in New Brunswick, NJ
