Checking out the GMC lot, I noticed many of the new Sierra's come with "chrome-clad aluminum wheels" which looked like a steel wheel (based on where the rim meets the tire) with a Chrome-plated plastic cover. The 17"s are still cast aluminum, but all the 18s seem to have these plastic wheels. What's the buyer advantage?

I am not nuts about the tumescence in the 'running board' area, but otherwise this is an intriquing melding of a vintage Fruehauf trailer front into the bed on this GMC. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/gmc/unspecified/1068372.html

Big-Time Launch GM's upcoming full-size pickups arguably the company's most important new vehicles in years AutoWeek | Published 07/31/06, 5:42 pm et General Motors is introducing its next-generation full size pickup trucks, the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, two trucks that could help lead the General out of its financial doldrums. GM says the trucks have been redesigned from top to bottom: They have new exterior and interior designs, new engines and new chassis. The Silverado and Sierra are offered with three cab styles, three cargo box lengths and several suspensions setups. GM hopes the range gives customers more choice when trying to suit their …

Canadian Driver: August 8, 2006 Feature: GM reveals new 2007 Silverado and Sierra Among domestic manufacturers, trucks are big business: they are General Motors' highest-volume product, and the profits they generate are going to be considered a large part of the company's plan to revive its flagging fortunes. So it's no surprise that the company made an event out of revealing the new generation of its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which debut as 2007 models. It all happened at the company's massive proving grounds in Milford, Michigan, where media, dealers and a select group of truck owners from across Canada and the U.S. were assembled in the scorching Augus…

I just took delivery of my 2007 Black Yukon Denali last month. To my surprise, with my drivers side door open and the sun hitting it, I noticed it was missing paint- the whole area around the hinges was mostly primer with a hint of black paint. At fist I thought it was just an orange peel. I checked the other doors and the rear hatch- they are all the same. dust, but it would not wipe off. The outside of the doors themselves looks likePrimer with little paint. I then opened the hood and the whole engine compartment is primer color with a few black spots! I contacted GM "Customer Support" and their exact words to me were" If we built perfect vehicle it would of cost you m…

Somewhere I saw an drawing of a 2009 GMC minivan. It was included in a photo gallery of some of the NAIS vehicles. If the vehicle was produced, it would at least give GM a shot at making up some lost ground in the minivan market. Chevy and GMC should make minivans instead of Saturn, Pontiac and Buick. Lutz should have demanded that the Venture had a slight facelift and destroyed the Uplander and its boring siblings. To me the 1984 Astro was more attractive than the 2004 Uplander.

So the mid size trucks GM will have as an option the 2.8L Duramax with 200 hp/370 lb-ft. I have been searching but have not found anything on what the hauling and towing estimates will be. Does anyone have a idea either backed by engine know how of what these trucks can haul or have seen any GM documentation that would indicate what it can haul / Tow? I have been searching for the over seas spec and not found it yet, but then not very good doing a search for this info. Please post if you find it.

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2014/01/2015-gmc-canyon-whats-the-difference.html Mark Williams wrote a good article on the differences with the 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. I've got to say while I was impressed with the Colorado when it was first shown last month in Los Angeles, I wasn't 'wowed' enough. I figured if the Canyon was a rebadge of the Colorado (a'la 2004), then my next vehicle decision (Sierra) was easily made. No such luck; I'll have some thinking and planning to do here

2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose? As I have spent time with my son looking at various CUV models, I cam across the new Acadia and learned they had a monochromatic version that I think is very sharp looking. GMC has built a very nice profitable line by offering Denali on every model they make. Yet not everyone likes Chrome all over. So this brings up the desire to see what people think. I configured up two near identical CUVs with the only difference being the All-Terrain package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia and the Denali package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia. What are your thoughts? Review the two listing autos below and sound off …

Well I was looking at GMC and then I was all ready for a Colorado ZR2. Well I tried to order the Chevy and ran into many hurdles. Most were incompetent dealers with no clue, some were greedy dealers and then you had the honest dealers who already ordered in a color I did not want. i got tied of the lies at one and the incompetence at the others and started looking at GMC again. in a way Idid benefit by the grief. I changed from the extended cab to the crew. I'm sorry I didn't find this truck last weekend during the 20% off Black Friday Sale. One option I wasn't considering is the 22" tires & rims ($3k option!! :-O ). Hi there. I have a problem with my 93 Astro. It is mechanically sound, but will shut down for no reason we've yet been able to determine. Some days it will run all day without any problems, some days it will run for 20 minutes and then ... nothing. There aren't any unusual noises associated with it, it just stops and refuses to start. The mechanics who have so far looked at the problem have thought that it might be any of the following: crank sensor, fuel pump, fuel sender relay, or the computer. If anyone has any ideas, has had this problem, or can direct me to a resource that will better be able to assist me with it, I'd appreciate it a whole lot. The vehicle is…

Anyone know about proposed modifications for the Acadia later in this model year or in 2008? In particular, my wish list would include: (1) a back up camera to go with the navigation unit- already planned for the Enclave; (2) rain sensing wipers- I love these on my VW Jetta; (3) preservation of the 6 disc CD when navigation is ordered; (4) having a DVD slot on the rear entertainment system unit itself; (5) availability of Bluetooth; (6) availability of a tan/beige interior as an option; and (7) amber rear turning signals- far easier to see than red ones, from my perspective.

Acadian Allure GMC's new crossover builds interest with women By LAURA CLARK GEIST | AUTOMOTIVE NEWS Link to Original Article @ AutoWeek | Published 03/19/07, 1:38 pm et Click here to view Acadia's launch commercial, 'Inspiration' GMC's TV commercials traditionally have featured pickups and SUVs plowing through work sites and deserts, as gravel-voiced announcers addressed a distinctly male audience. Acadia Takes The Lead GMC crossover is expected to be new plant's top seller By RICK KRANZ | Link to Original Article @ AutoWeek LANSING, Mich. - General Motors expects the GMC Acadia to be the best seller among the three new crossovers it builds near here. The 2007 Acadia and Saturn Outlook and the 2008 Buick Enclave share GM's new front-drive Lambda vehicle architecture and are built at GM's newest assembly plant in Delta Township, Mich. Through May, 28,264 Acadias were sold, compared with 12,694 Outlooks and 1,905 Enclaves. Enclave production started in April. So I'm confused. How big exactly is this Acadia? I mean I guess I kinda know as I saw the Enclave at the Chicago Auto show, but they are calling it a crossover??? Seems to be big enough and have the amenities to just be another SUV. Besides that, is this going to be replacing/phasing out the Envoy or selling alongside it? If it is replacing the Envoy(and Rainer with the Enclave), then what is Chevy going to do about the trailblazer? We've only heard of the 3 vehicles(GMC, Saturn, Buick). My wife has a 2003 Envoy now and she loves it, just wondering what her next SUV/Crossover will be now as she will only buy GM. Someone please clarify this for me.

Okay, so I'm new to all of this, had a quick question. How difficult is it to find a 78 GMC 3/4 ton? Been looking around and have only seen this one which happens to be for sale right down the road from me. It looks a little rough around the edges but still seems to be running very well. Was wondering what would seem like a fair price just based on what you can see, and if it doesn't seem worth it, how hard are these to find? Any help or advice would be very appreciated.

Glad I found you guys on here! This is my first post on the site, I hope it helps! I'm looking at ordering a new 2008 GMC 2500 HD. I am in the construction buisness and my Yukon is just not cutting it anymore. I have some questions that when I ask the local dealer, I'm not so sure they really know what they're talking about, hopefully someone on here does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is the 6.0L V8 available in the HD with Active Fuel management? IF so, how do I spec it on my order? Why does the trailering capacity drop almost 3000lbs when you select 3.73 gears vs 4.10 in the gas motor? I want the better economy of the 3.73 rear end, but don't know i…

I got my April issue of C&D yesterday, and they had a short review of the Denali. For the most part, they liked it a lot. They said the new 6-speed was almost always very smooth and was happy to downshift two or three ratios. They attained 20 MPG on the highway over some streches, even at near 80MPH. They averaged 12MPG throughout the test. They love the Autoride and said it feels "impossibly solid and composed and, at the same time, comfortably compliant." Performance was really surprising to me, considering that GM says the Escalade does 0-60 in 6.8s and C&D got 6.2 in the Denali. The 1/4 mile was also surprising: 15.0s at 94MPH. That's faster than a V8…

1. How many new GMCs have you purchased/leased since the 1998 model year? 2. Do you intend to purchase/lease a new GMC in the next two model years? For me: 1. 0 2.no

Can you smell what the General is cooking? MIAMI – The GMC division of General Motors will sponsor the September 8 Miami premier of the new movie, “Gridiron Gang”, starring actor and sports entertainer, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The event will take place at the Shops at Sunset Place at 9:30 p.m. “Gridiron Gang” is based on a true story about two juvenile detention camp probation officers who turn a group of troubled teens into a disciplined high school football team in four weeks, while teaching them self-respect and responsibility. The movie’s Miami premiere and after-party will serve as a fundraiser for Dwayne Johnson’s new non-profit organization, The ROCK Foun…

The Sierra purchase and subsequent service relationship with "my" BPG dealership was all positive from day one. I wonder what would happen if I went in there this fall and ordered a 2010 Canyon SLE1 extended cab 4X4 5 cylinder with posi and power convenience package in that new gray-green color with tan interior. I still appreciate chrome bumpers on a pickup truck, and Colorado is all about the body-color bumpers unless I go full-tilt Z71, which I am scared of due to MSRP loftiness.

Anyone know of the changes to the 09 Sierra truck range, besides the upcoming hybrid? Know of any changes to the Denali? Someone special I know is wondering if they should wait until 09 or get an 08. Any info would be appreciated.

..for the rest of the GMT900s? I am specifically looking for info on the Denali and XL Denali. From what I hear the schedules may have been bumped up a little, so I am anxious to find out. The people on this board seem to know more than the dealers. thanks!

Coming Crossover Shakeup at GMC Acadia and Terrain both getting downsized Conceptualization by Andrew Currie of Sector329Graphics.com February 15th, 2011 Drew Dowdell - CheersandGears.com If you like the GMC Acadia for it's full size SUV roominess, you better grab it now while it's still full size. A few weeks ago during ourreview of the 2011 GMC Acadia Denali, we wondered aloud in the review about the relevance of that top shelf GMC Crossover when there was an equally luxurious, yet more curvy Buick Enclave sitting in the same showroom. Apparently there were heads at General Motors wondering the same thing. Our inside sources…

My Dad has been ready to replace a 2000 F-150 that was worn-out. My parents have been long-time, loyal Ford buyers...I have worked for a Ford deale since 1992. Their first consideration was Expedition and F-150 Super-Crew. Mom currently drives (and LOVES) her 2002 Explorer. Dad was very interested in the Nissan Armada, and some of his co-workers suggested a Ridgeline. So he looked, drove, and then took Mom along to test drive again. And again. Mom & Dad's thoughts: Expedition and F-150 - good reputation and good $$ deal with my family plan pricing, but looks are a bit too bland. Performance feels weak. Armada - very impressive overall, great seats, ni…

2007 Yukon is a leap forward in styling and content By Paul & Anita Lienert The redesigned 2007 GMC Yukon got plenty of advance publicity months before it went on sale in February, as much for General Motors' questionable timing as for the full-size utility vehicle's extensive makeover. Critics have questioned why GM focused so much of its development budget on big trucks and SUVs at a time of stratospheric fuel prices and increasing foreign competition in passenger cars. But the Yukon and its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade, were pretty long in the tooth and desperately in need of a major overhaul. In any context, the '07 Yukon is a huge step…

"This GMC is a pretty damn good truck." Click Here Honestly, the new Sierra comes off a bit too boring for me at the front. Maybe I need to see one in person...but I do think it is a stately handsome truck.

Edmunds Evaluation: 2007 GMC Acadia We learned a few facts that surprised us while driving the all-new 2007 GMC Acadia. First, GMC is The General's second best-selling division behind Chevrolet. In fact, GMC's sales are up more than 80 percent since 1991, and it's had record sales in 11 of the last 13 years. The division has also found great success in its "Denali" branding, with those premium versions making up nearly half of all sales for every model line that offers them. GM representatives expect similar success from the upcoming Sierra Denali line. So why would a division with this much success at selling pure "trucks" want to dip its tow ratings in the crossover…

Source: http://www.insidelin..._ss_627121.html *Watch the video at the link above. While the title states "Chevrolet Silverado", what you see mostly in the video is the next GMC Sierra: Based on those two photos I've posted above, I'm not getting a 2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept vibe in that front end: Nor am I getting a 2013 GMC Acadia vibe in that front end: And I would say that from the two pictures I posted above that there's going to be a large chrome piece mounted at the top of the grille, a'la GMC Terrain, based on the mounting holes visible:

It will actually be his personal vehicle, but he's a real basics kind of guy and didn't want power anything or carpeted floors. So he finally found a dealer that had, or I should say would pick up, what he wanted. A white 2007 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 2WD with 4.8L V8. Crank windows, manual door locks, and hose-out flooring. Only option other than the extended cab is cloth seats instead of vinyl. He haggled the dealer down to $22,500, including tax and licensing fees, from $24,900 excluding tax and fees. Plus 0% interest, and I think he's putting $2-3k down, so he got a damn good deal, IMO. I'll see if I can get pictures and his impressions when he picks it up this week…

Not sure if this is the right place to ask questions, but I thought I would try. I bought a 2008 Sierra All Terrain 12 years ago, wow time flies ! Totally love the truck and thought I took really good care of it. Now however, I've got rust developing on each side of the rear fenders. I see many trucks of this same age with the same problem. Does anyone have any experience or comments on how to fix this so I can keep the truck looking as good as possible as long as possible? I see a product called "rust converter". Im thinking of sanding off as much rust as I can, then applying rust converter. Sanding is smooth, then painting with a rust inh…

Next time you're over to the YouTube on the internets, check out this guy's channel. He's out in Oregon where trucks don't rust away to nothing. http://www.youtube.com/user/ElderlyIron?feature=watch He's got a lot of videos uploaded, so you might have to look around, but his GMC finds and Redneck Restorations are pretty cool to watch.

In case it hasn't been mentioned it before, last night I found a new forum exclusively for the new GM Lambdas. It is centered around the Acadia, but there are sections for the Outlook and Enclave as well. The web link is here--Acadia Forums. I registered myself last night under the screen name imgntht. If anyone else is a current/soon to be owner, or just wants more info on them, this looks like a nice informative place.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...icleId=120718#8 Road Tests Full Test: 2007 GMC Sierra Denali The luxury truck you didn't know you wanted By John Pearley Huffman, Contributor Date posted: 05-14-2007 At this moment, the 2007 GMC Sierra Denali is the most powerful pickup in regular production that money can buy. Dodge let the insane Ram SRT-10 fade away last year, Ford hasn't built the beloved F-150 Lightning since 2003 and the newly muscular Toyota Tundra is more than 20 horsepower behind. In fact the only open-bed contraption that matches the Sierra Denali pony-for-pony is the Cadillac Escalade EXT, which shares GM's 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter OHV V8 and…
