Only 1.5% of Avenger buyers checked the AWD option box, and the Sebring take rate was an abysmal .7%. The Caliber fared only slightly better at 4.4% for the 2008 model, but that's not nearly enough to keep Chrysler from canceling the option for the 2009 model year. 67. Give It Away, Now: Chrysler's Crazy Lease Deals Chrysler's going to give people cavities and diabetes if they sweeten their deals any more. DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group is leasing 2006 model year vehicles at a drastically higher rate than crosstown rivals General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. as it works to unload a glut of new cars and trucks. Lease deals can help automakers boost sales because they typically offer lower monthly payments. Dealers say Chrysler is making lease deals on 2006 models even more attractive by lowering lease interest rates, relaxing credit requirements and raising vehicles' residual values. It's good news for car buyers who can l…

Two Chicago area dealership groups have filed a lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles accusing the auto manufacturer of falsifying monthly sales figures in the U.S. FCA says the allegations are without merit. FCA has reported 69 monthly sales gains in the years since its bankruptcy in 2009. In the lawsuit, the one of dealerships claim that they were offered $20,000 to falsely report the sales of 40 new vehicles on the final day of a month. Those sales would then be backed out on the first day of the next month preventing the warranty clock on those vehicles from starting. The lawsuit further alleges that FCA rewards dealers who falsify the sales reports wi…

Here is what info Dodge released and was posted on Autoblog As we revealed a few days ago, the first Dodge Challengers to go on sale will only be 2008 SRT8 models. Today we've learned that those 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8s will carry an MSRP of $37,995 (including $675 for destination) and that dealers will begin taking orders for them as early as December 3rd. That's next Monday, people. If you were expecting to have the whole month of December to convince your domestic partner that a Challenger is much more important than Christmas presents, the deadline for that convincing argument has just been moved up. The 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will be available in three co…

Stratus out, Avenger in at Dodge Name change may not be enough to battle Asians By Brett Clanton / The Detroit News Chrysler is expected to yank the Stratus name from its Dodge midsize sedan when the car's replacement arrives in early 2007. The new vehicle will be called Avenger, a moniker last used on a Dodge coupe that was killed off in 2000, according to sources familiar with the situation. Chrysler officials declined to confirm the name change, which comes as the DaimlerChrysler AG unit is moving to toughen up the image of Dodge cars to mesh with the bold marketing of Dodge trucks. Analysts say the car, even with a new name, will face challenge…

Supposing I get the money and (want to spend it on such a thing) decide an upgrade to the wheels/tires of my Breeze, I was wondering if Chrysler's "Genesis II" aluminum wheels would fit the Breeze. These wheels were used on some SE Intrepids, and Sport, LE, ES, ES AWD (1999-2000 ES) minivans. I especially like their appearance, and they are 16" in diameter, so they aren't anything outrageously big. What they look like: And look slightly similar to:

Will Chrysler Restructure as Well? DaimlerChrysler Chairman Dieter Zetsche said Tuesday that the automaker will cut output by 90,000 vehicles in the third quarter -- up from previous estimates of about 75,000 -- and another 45,000 in the fourth quarter to bring dealer inventories more in line with consumer demand and make room in showrooms for new models that will roll out later this year. Zetsche also said the Auburn Hills-based automaker may have to take more drastic cost-cutting measures in the wake of last week's announcement that Chrysler will lose $1.5 billion in the third quarter, more than double its July estimate of $600 million in red ink, and report a loss …

  86. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 3, 2012 Chrysler’s SRT group has been on a bit of roll as late. Their lineup, which includes the Chrysler 300 SRT8, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT8, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has been praised widely. But, all of those models mentioned come from other divisions in Chrysler. That appears to be changing with the new SRT Viper due out later this year, and SRT is hungry for more models of their own. Motor Trend reports that SRT could be getting two more models in the coming years. The first model is one that we have been hearing about for awhile; the Barracuda. Ford's iconic pony car has been outsold by the Dodge Challenger by 293 units in February, as the Dodge coupe racked up 3,283 sales during a very challenging month. The Challenger's February victory could be a sign of things to come for the Mustang, as the Blue Oval's most recognizable vehicle is set to get bombarded with more competition coming from the 2010 Camaro. The Camaro, which goes into regular production on March 16, already has over 10,000 pre-orders on the books. The Mustang won't be left for dead, t…

2007 Dodge Caliber Trading perk for class. by Marty Padgett (2006-02-13) The Caliber five-door hatchback succeeds the four-door and two-door Neons in the Dodge lineup. But just so we're clear on this upfront, it's no Neon replacement. With its tougher, vaguely militaristic connotations right up front in the title, the Caliber drops the perky Neon overtones for a classier, more substantial, and far more upscale feel. The problem is, it's also more expensive than the Neon, in an age where sub-Neon cars are winning converts. Sans Neon rebates, you pay the price for the cargo-loving body style, for the standard curtain airbags and superior back-seat room. Dodge cro…
