http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_li..._spied/(page)/1 Chrysler may be teetering on bankruptcy, but product development soldiers on, as evidenced by these spy shots of the successor to one of the company’s most popular and successful models, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Clearly visible is the new model’s significantly longer wheelbase and rear overhang, suggesting that it has grown a bunch and may accommodate a third-row seat. According to our shooter’s sources, the styling looks a bit like the way-cool Jeep Trailhawk Concept from the 2007 NAIAS, sans the T-bar roof and with normal-sized windows and wheels. Through the camo we can see quad headlamps, a leaning seven…

Shocker: The Jeep Compass' Stumbling Start As Chrysler dealers offer discounts on 2006 and existing 2007 models, they compete with the Compass, launched in July. The discounting may have slowed the Compass launch a little, although Chrysler says it is pleased so far. Early signs are that the Compass is off to a slower start than the Dodge Caliber. The average transaction price has dropped from $22,467 when the Compass was launched to $21,534 as of Sept. 24, according to the Power Information Network. In contrast, transaction prices for the Caliber have risen from $17,059 at launch in March to $18,276 as of Sept. 24. Read "Slow Start" @ Autoweek

  5. Rethinking the Car Company Private-equity firm Cerberus is expected to transform Chrysler into an automobile manufacturer like no other. What the future may hold. May 17, 2007 - Henry Ford created the defining engine of the American auto industry with his mighty River Rogue factory in the 1920s. Huge freighters loaded with iron ore and rubber docked at one end of mile-long warren of foundries and factories, while on the other end shiny black Model A automobiles rolled off the assembly line every 49 seconds. At the dawn of the Internet age, Michael Dell created a new model for manufacturing. At his factories, the guts of his computers—circuit boards, frames, memory chips…

Dodge engineers have begun testing their four-door spin-off of the next Chrysler Sebring. Whether it will be called Stratus or Avenger is a subject of speculation, but there is no doubt that it takes its design inspiration from the Dodge Charger. Although the resemblance to its Sebring platform-mate is clear, the Dodge gets a distinct front fascia, a unique C-pillar design and - judging from the camouflage on the rear fender and door - a Charger-style rear fender arch. The prototype's taillights are also finished almost identically to those on the Charger. When viewed in profile, the new Dodge has a more formal rear window slope compared to the Sebring, which features a …

Sources familiar with the discussion told the Wall Street Journal that executives from the respective companies are no longer in talks. FCA was reticent about the idea because it would increase the companies reliance on the struggling European market, and the Agnelli family, who has a controlling stake in FCA, was not interested in a deal that was paid for with PSA stock. PSA would need to use equity to pay for FCA because they are still digesting their acquisition of Opel from General Motors. 60. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com September 18, 2013 When we have brought you spy shots of the next-generation Chrysler 200, it was usually under the cloak of a Alfa Romeo Giulietta. But this week, the first spy shots of the next-gen 200 in its own flesh has been released. While Chrysler went crazy with the amount of camoflage on this mule, we can take away some information about the new 200. For starters, the next-gen 200 will adopt a four-door coupe silhouette. It also looks like the 200 will come with a short decklid with a spoiler. There isn't as many clues with the front end, though we're guessing a sleeker look is in play. Power will come from two…

Since someone posted about the MB lighting question, I have a Dodge one. Last week I was on Sunrise Highway and saw a Calibur signaling. I was in the left lane doing a conservative, well, I was going faster. When I passed it, I noticed it's headlight was flashing as a directional. I thought it was very odd. Then later I saw it changing lanes again and the other headlight was acting as a directional. It was during the day, and I wondered if it had something to do with it being more visible using daytime running headlamps. Is it just a freak of nature electrical problem or does someone know if it's supposed to do that?

  62. A Million Miles to Mid-Pack? Will the 200 and Avenger be Enough? 10th October, 2010 by "black-knight" Chrysler Corporation; out of our three major domestic automakers, it seems that the crew from Auburn Hills lead by a chain-smoking, beatnik Italian has the most to prove to the American consumer. Forget how people constantly deride GM with the "Government Motors" moniker for a moment, the simple fact is that ChryCo built some of the worst American cars of the last few years. Interiors were built from cheap dime-store Mega Blocks. Aside from the Hemi V8, most of the corporate engine line-up seemed to struggle to reach modern performance levels. Three quarters of t…

I don't say that because I don't think the Sebring looks good, because it looks pretty sweet with the big rims in the video......I just can't believe a rapper put a $25K car in their video. The rims alone probably cost a quarter of that. Also, Eve is lookin pretty damn hot these days. The car is at the 1:55 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ1Y0U8hNYo

  68. Fiat Chrysler will abandon its 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty in the United States for the 2016 model year in favor of a 5-year/60,000-mile guarantee. The move follows a similar change in March by General Motors, which reduced the 5-year powertrain warranties on its Chevrolet and GMC vehicles from 100,000 to 60,000 miles. “Following changes already made by competitors, FCA US is adjusting powertrain warranty coverage for 2016 model year vehicles to be more consistent with industry practices,” FCA said in a statement to Automotive News. “For 2016MY, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram Truck vehicles with gasoline engines will be covered by a 5-year/60,000 mile powertr…

Although the Patriot was shown alongside the Jeep Compass as a concept car, the Patriot soon became a confirmed entrant in the small-SUV segment. This Wednesday in New York , the Patriot will be shown to the public as a production-ready vehicle. The new Patriot will do to Jeep's bottom what the Commander did to its top - extend the model range for the hallowed brand. A compact SUV with a traditional Jeep exterior design, the Patriot is based on the underpinnings of the Dodge…

  76. Chryslers last Hurrah? Hellcat 300? Autoblog, a news source you can love and hate and question, but is this late breaking story valid? Does it have teeth? Autoblog is reporting a possible Hellcat 300 might be in the works. Based on the pictures, I would say it is hard to say other than this has that traditional 3-4 inches of tire sticking out, brembo breaks so it might be true but then where the pictures are taken makes one wonder if this is just a personal pet project. http://www.autoblog.com/2017/05/18/chrysler-may-be-testing-a-hellcat-300/?hcid=hp-tile-small-4 So what are your thoughts? Is chrysler going out with a big bang?

Note partial exterior cleanup of fender, part of the door, and half of the upper and lower grille sections. Side view of the car. A closeup of the cleaned up passenger fender and tire. The fender seems to have survived fairly well. The chrome on the vent window frame looks great, with only one or two pits in the metal. The gas tank on the left looks like it survived and could probably be reused if the car was restored. The leaf springs, as seen on the right, have brittled and snapped. This is true for both sides. 83. The internet went mad yesterday when spy shots of a unique 300 SRT mule was caught. The pictures - caught at an apartment complex and on the highway - show a 300 SRT sporting some wider fenders and a set of drag radials. The spy photographer notes the wheels fitted to the 300 are the same ones that Dodge was using for the early Demon mules. Behind the wheels are a set of four-piston Brembo brakes. Also, the spy photographer says the mule was making engine noises similar to the Charger/Challenger Hellcat. What could this be? It might just be an engineering mule that will likely not go into production. Another possibility is Chrysler building a Hellcat version of …

So it seems interesting that Chrysler will be dropping the plug-in part of the Pacifica Plug-In hybrid in their marketing for almost all of the U.S. Bloomberg reports that Chrysler will advertise the Pacifica PHEV as the Pacifica Hybrid for the majority of the country. The reason is that most Americans see 'plug-in' and think limited range. For the record, a plug-in hybrid can run on electric power alone for a time. Once the battery is depleted, the gas engine will kick on to provide propulsion and charge the battery. There is one exception to this plan, California. Tim Kuniskis, head of FCA's …

The Chrysler Sebring has been a major league disappointment since its introduction in 2007, but execs at Chrysler headquarters have promised that a new, better midsize sedan is on the way. The photo to the right is not that magical new Chrysler, but is what appears to be a warmed-over version of the Sebring we already have. The most obvious change arrives at the hood, where the Sebring's ungainly washboard ribbing is replaced by a smooth surface. There is significant camouflage covering the front bumper and lower fascia, but due to some un-kept grass, we can't see any details. The Chrysler experts over at Allpar say that the updates will mainly improve aerodynamics and re…
