Full article For 2010, Acura will offer a V6 trim level on its TSX. Since its introduction in 2004, the TSX has only been available with a 2.4L engine. Rumors of a V6 model sprung up almost immediately following the introduction of the 2009 model, and it was made clear that there was indeed room for a V6 under the hood. Well now it's official, the 2010 TSX will have the option of a 280hp V6, the same engine as seen in the base model TL. Along with that, the V6 model will feature 18 inch wheels and improved suspension tuning. The only transmission option, at least for 2010, will be the 5-speed automatic. Nissan isn't quite ready to show off the next-generation Frontier, but they have decided to drop the new engine and transmission destined for the new model into the outgoing Frontier. Revealed on the eve of the Chicago Auto Show yesterday, the new 3.8L V6 produces 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque - an increase of 49 hp over the outgoing 4.0L V6, but torque remains the same. This is paired with a nine-speed automatic that is similar to the one used in the recently refreshed Titan. Chrysler decided it was time to give the Pacifica a bit of freshening up for the 2021 model year and the end result rolled out at the Chicago Auto Show today. The updated model begins with a new front end that has a taller grille and wrap-around LED daytime running lights. Around back is a new full-width taillight. Inside, Chrysler has installed a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen featuring UConnect 5. The next step in Hyundai's Sonata offensive launched today at the Chicago Auto Show. The 2020 Sonata Hybrid features a 2.0L four-cylinder paired with an electric motor to produce a combined 192 horsepower. This is paired with a six-speed automatic which comes with new shift programming to improve the speed and smoothness of gear changes. Hyundai touts the Sonata Hybrid will return 50 City/54 Highway/52 Combined, but that is for the efficiency Blue model. Other models will return 45/51/47 on the EPA cycle. Chevrolet didn't want to have Ford hogging the spotlight today in terms of heavy-duty pickups, so they spilled some more details on the upcoming Silverado HD at an event in Flint, MI. Let's start with some big numbers. Chevrolet is claiming all dually Silverado HDs are capable of towing over 30,000 pounds, with max being 35,500 pounds for a regular cab, 2WD model with the 6.6L Duramax Turbodiesel V8. This bests the Ram Heavy Duty's max towing of 35,100 pounds. Max payload sits at 7,466 pounds. Toyota appears to be taking the 'long-view' with their teaser for the Chicago Auto Show. You can barely make out the 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra in the picture provided. "Toyota will unleash its next batch of trail-ready four-wheelers on February 8th, 9 a.m. CST, at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show," the company wrote in a very short press release. It appears all three are TRD Pro models which may hint Toyota is planning some updates to their off-road models. We'll have more details and hopefully some clearer pictures in a few weeks. The boys at SRT are quite proud of the Viper ACR's 7:22.1 run of the Nürburgring, and they have brought the car out to Chicago to let everyone know who sits atop the podium. It has become a tradition my GM (car) loving son must have his fix and go to the Chicago Autoshow, and we did this year together. It was the perfect father and son get-away except for the wild and annoying rednecks on the three hour bus ride. 30 years ago at the Chicago Auto Show, Mazda pulled the sheet off a small roadster called the MX-5 Miata. Little did anyone know how much of an impact this little car would make in the world. Today, Mazda honored this anniversary by introducing the 2019 MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition. Spent last night at the Chicago First Look to Charity event and it was a blast. I should have eaten more food and drank more, but so hard to do when you really just want to sit in all the cars and take advantage of not having to wait in a line to get in them. GM's offering was very nice, and I am extremely impressed with the Acadia! I went into the show with the idea in my head that I was going to narrow down my search to about 3-5 'CARS' then test drive for a purchase in the next few months. Subaru has revealed an updated version of their Legacy sedan that will make its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show next week. The obvious question being asked at the moment is what Subaru has changed. On the outside, the front grille is slightly wider and the air intakes have been slightly lowered. There is also new headlights and two color choices - Magnetite Gray Metallic and Crimson Red Pearl. Hyundai is teasing their showing for next week's Chicago Auto Show which happens to be the next Elantra GT. But we already have a good idea what it might look like. How? The front end is the dead giveaway since it perfectly lines up with the i30 that debuted last fall at the Paris Motor Show. We can also take a possible guess as to what one of the engines could be. With the red trim and stitching on the steering wheel, this gives a hint that Hyundai will be employing the turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder from the Elantra Sport with 201 horsepower. Dodge has gone mad in terms of power. Case in point is the 2018 Durango SRT that will be shown this week at the Chicago Auto show. Under a new hood featuring a functional scoop is a 6.4L HEMI V8 producing 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This is paired up with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. 0-60 mph is said to take 4.4 seconds and the quarter-mile takes 12.9 seconds. The spotlight for Toyota's truck and SUV lineup has been on the Tacoma TRD Pro. But the company is moving the spotlight on three models; RAV4, Sequoia, and Tundra with the introduction of new trims and various updates. We'll work our way on three models that made their debut this morning at the Chicago Auto show in alphabetical order. Last week, Hyundai teased the next-generation Elantra GT before its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show. We figured out that this could be the European i30 from a couple of pictures. It seems our guess was correct. Aside from the name and one engine, the 2018 Elantra GT doesn't share any design traits with the standard Elantra. The model is a bit more squarish and features touches such as a more aggressive front bumper, bold character line, and a distinctly shaped tailgate. I thought I'd give everyone a quick write-up on my impressions at the auto show. First, I was amazed at the lack of people at the show on Friday. Saturday was crowded, so I would highly suggest that anyone who is planning to go to the show go on a weekday. This is a very long write-up, but I hope you at least skim through it. Ok, here goes... We walked into the Ford area first. We sat in the Fusion, then the Edge. Both have nice seats, and the Fusion's interior is acceptable for the price, but the Edge's is very poor. Kia has released a teaser for their upcoming concept car that will be shown at Chicago. The concept will feature an electric all-wheel drive system and be aimed at "city dwellers seeking the ultimate urban escape." 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Lexus' F performance brand and to celebrate, the Japanese automaker will introducing special editions of the GS F and RC F to North America at this week's Chicago Auto Show. The two models made their debut last year at the Tokyo Motor Show where Lexus announced they would build a combined total of 500 GS F and RC F 10th anniversary edition models for the Japanese market. It seems Ford wasn't finished with announcements for the Edge. This week at the Chicago Auto Show, Ford will unveil the Edge Titanium Elite. This is mostly an appearance package for the Edge with more body-color trim, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a new skid plate. Like other Edge models except for the ST, the Titanium Elite will use the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder with 250 horsepower. So my wife went and surprised the heck out of me this year for Christmas and purchased 2 tickets to the First Look for Charity event the night before the Chicago Auto show officially opens to the public. No information has been revealed about the Generation 6 Camaro's 1LE package, but it is expected to only enhance the SS versions already exemplary track capabilities. It seems we were right on the money with our guess concerning Toyota's Chicago Auto Show debuts. Today, the Japanese automaker introduced updated versions of the TRD Pro family, comprised of the 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra. The big story with the update deals with the suspension. All TRD Pro models now come with aluminum-bodied 2.5-inch TRD Fox Internal Bypass shocks. The shocks promise improved damping for on- and off-road situations, and each models gets their own specific tuning for the shocks. Nearly after a year since Volkswagen unveiled the replacement for the CC at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2019 Arteon made its U.S. debut at the Chicago Auto Show today. Toyota has quite the showing at the Chicago Auto Show next week. First off is a refresh for the full-size Avalon sedan. We don't much about the refresh, but judging from a from teaser shot, Toyota has made some slight tweaks to front end. We'll have more information come next week. Not sure how long of a write up I'm going to do, just going to throw out some thoughts from what I remember... Volt is pretty nice inside, really looks good outside too. Think it has great potential to change the perception of GM amongst many people. It was also one of the busiest areas in the show. ZL1 is pretty "meh" to me. At the end of the day, it's still a Camaro and doesn't look that much different than an SS. Camaro convertible is pretty nice as well. I'm a little underwhelmed by the interior, however; the Mustang is nicer. Regal and LaCrosse are both quite nice (but I already knew that from before), Verano looks okay but nothing spectacular.
