Can on of the admins or mods create a section for the 2008 SEMA Show? We're a car site and we don't have a section yet dedicated for this year's show. The election is over, time to start getting back to the business of talking about cars.

GM @ SEMA Buick Enclave Urban CEO Edition For release: Oct. 30, 2007, 12:01 a.m. EDT From a tenacious player on the basketball court to a respected automotive stylist off, nine-year NBA veteran Jerome Williams puts the same resolve into vehicle customization as he did on the hardwood. Williams and his company, Automotive Street Style, have teamed up with Buick to create a vehicle that appeals to today’s urban influencers. The result is a luxury crossover that Williams has dubbed the “Buick Enclave Urban CEO Edition.” It was revealed at the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. “Buick is all about style, elegance, luxury and refinement…

Autoblog Another one for @dfelt "The Merc pairs an electric powertrain with an untouched-looking exterior, save the lowering and a few hard-to-spot details that point to its heavily modified character. Look underneath and you'd see a full Art Morrison custom frame. The patina, sometimes overdone, looks lovely here over the greyish green paint. A Derelict badge and one of Ward's signature lizard sculptures are apparent on closer inspection. Underneath the original gas cap is a cleverly placed Teslasupercharger connector, and behind the license plate is a CHAdeMO receptacle. Inside, lovely period-appropriate fabrics and leather set off the more involved detai…

SEMA Preview: Maaco Medusa Mustang It appears that the theme of this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas will be "Gratuitous Tuning," the time honored art of adding plastic body kits, big wheels, lethal sound systems and origami doors to our favorite cars just for the hell of it. The latest car we've found is the Maaco Medusa Mustang, a pimped out pony car that left the fine line between good taste and garishness in the dust as fast as its 550-horsepower, supercharged engine could take it. SEMA: Mitsubishi Evolander Headlining the marquee of Mitsubishi's SEMA display is the Evolander concept. This unique vehicle, created by the Mitsubishi Research and Design of America (MRDA) team in Cypress, California started life as a 2007 Outlander, which is an all-new addition to Mitsubishi's line-up that goes on sale in November. The creative minds at MRDA sought to infuse the Evolander concept with performance elements and design cues inspired by Mitsubishi's omnipotent, race-ready, super-sedan, the Lancer Evolution. An exploratory concept, the Evolander represents the design and engineering possibilities of what could be an Outlander Ralliart production…

If you thought that the 840 horsepower HEMI found under the Dodge Challenger Demon wasn't enough, then Mopar would like to introduce you to a new crate motor that made its debut yesterday at the SEMA Show. This is the "Hellephant", a 426 cubic inch HEMI V8 with a 3.0L twin-screw supercharger producing 1,000 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque on 93 octane pump gas. Muscle car fans will know 426 is an iconic number for Chrysler as the automaker offered this engine in 1964 for a number of models including the Dodge Dart and Plymouth Fury. It earned the nickname of "Elephant" due to its enormous size. About 11,000 of these engines would find a home a Chrysler product…

The reason all of GM's SEMA pics are the way they are is cost. It's way cheaper to shoot everything in a studio and then drop the car into a background with photoshop. Which is, of course, what they've done. Shooting each car on location would cost quite a bit more. You've got transport for all the cars to the various locations, car prep crews, lighting crews, security, yada, yada.... Anyhow...Im not saying it's a good or bad thing to do. Just explaining why they do it.

SEMA Preview: Ford F-150 FX2 Sport Extreme ...[T]his pickup with pick-up (the 5.4 liter V8 delivers 450hp to be precise, thanks to a Ford racing screw-type supercharger with ceramic-coated headers and Ford Racing side exhausts) could be designed by any die-hard Ford truck man (or woman, I'm sure) just by checking the right boxes on FoMoCo's in-house parts catalog. In addition to some neat little touches to the outside of the truck including a dark billet grille, headlamp treatments, monochromatic paint and "unique wheels" it also sports some neat techie features like headrest mounted video entertainment units for the little 'uns and a line-in on the top of the dashboar…

If you wanted to drop FCA's monstrous Hellcat supercharged V8 into a project vehicle of yours, you needed to go down to your local salvage yard to rip one out of a Charger or Challenger Hellcat that met a premature end. But that will be changing this week at the SEMA Show. Mopar has announced that it will be seeling a crate version of the Hellcat engine. There will also be a Mopar “Hellcrate” HEMI Engine Kit that includes the necessary items to make for an easier swap such as a wiring harness, powertrain control module. oxygen sensors, fuel pump control module, and other bits. SEMA Preview: Ford SEMA Mustang It's the SEMA edition Mustang -- and atop the already slick performing GT -- Ford's kiddies strapped a Lycoming supercharger, some new headers and exhaust tips pulled right from Ford's Racing Performance Parts (NAMBLA) catalog -- all of which give this California special body kit-wearing, 18-inch black Bullit wheeled, Shelby rear-spoiler-sporting muscle car an extra few horses over the standard GT (FoMoCo folks on the scene were hesitant to give the exact number, but guesstimated it to be around 435). Kia has never offered a performance variant of the Forte sedan, tending to reserve that for the coupe and Forte5 hatchback. But that is changing as Kia has introduced the Forte GT sedan at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The transformation from a stock compact sedan to a sport compact begins under the hood. The 2.0L four-cylinder with 147 horsepower has been swapped for the turbocharged 1.6L four producing 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. This is the same engine found in the Kia Soul ! and Hyundai Elantra Sport. Transmissions include a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch. Kia has also made some handling improvements with the GT trading the standard tor…

GM released only this single image of the unique Pontiac Solstice SD-290 Concept. The Solstice features a cover over the passenger compartment that evokes vintage single-seat racers of yore and even includes a new windscreen and separate review mirror mounted in the middle. It's likely powered by something that's green since it is the theme of many of the cars.

If we were to award the most outrageous concept from an OEM at SEMA 2018, then Honda would be walking away with it thanks to the Rugged Open Air Vehicle concept. You might be thinking this just a large side-by-side utility vehicle. Well, yes and no. While a number of parts are borrowed from Honda Powersports' Pioneer 1000 like the doors and steering wheel, the mechanicals are provided from the Ridgeline. This is evident when you look inside as the shape of the dash and instrument are the same. No word on what powers the Rugged Open Air Vehicle concept, but we would guess it is the 3.5L V6 from the Ridgeline with 280 horsepower. The interior boasts a set of seats f…
