Quite a few forums have an on-going thread pinned that allow everyone to post what work they did recently on their rides. I didn't see one here on C&G, so I thought I'd try to start one here. Post what you did today or during the past weekend... regardless of how tiny of a job. Let us know your victories and disasters.

As some of you know, my mom has a 2005 Cobalt base sedan. She's had a few issues, and I want to see if anyone reading this has had similar experiences. Cloth coming out from under the pull cup in the door trim panels. Radio going into "lock" mode for no apparent reason. Resets itself with an ignition cycle. Ignition lock cylinder refusing to lock, preventing the key from being removed.

So, it was bound to happen. After 2 and a half trouble free months of cruising, the Achieva hit a snag. Last night, I went to get some food, parked the car, ate. All systems go! Turned her back on, and the volt needle drops down, Charge light stays on: Upon consulting the manual, I get this: The car drove fine, but I noticed it ran quietly. Before this happened, the car would buzz a little at a stoplight. Could it be what the manual says. A drive belt was loose and gave up? Things look okay under the hood, all grounds are grounded. I didn't have time to go to a shop today, but I did take it for a short drive to see if anything changed. Light stays on…

I was on GMBuyPower.com, pricing out a Solstice and was basically trying to figure out ways to get one with payments no higher than $350 a month (we currently pay $406 a month for my wife's 06 Escape, and I'd like to keep the payments on MY vehicle at least $50 less, if not more). I've never driven a car without ABS, so I'm not sure what its like to not have it, and I've also never driven a car WITH LSD, so I have no frame of reference there either. What are the advantages, and conversely, disadvantages to having these two options? Thanks!

All right, from what I've read on here, and elsewhere, Direct Injection is going to be the new fuel delivery system on a lot of vehicles. Just a few questions about it. When I think of direct injection, I think of diesel engines with an electric supply pump from the tank, then an engine driven Fuel Injection Pump that boosts the fuel pressure up insanely, finally ending in a fuel injector that shoots the fuel directly into the combustion chamber. Is that how a gasoline-burning DI vehicle works also? And if it does, then how does the fuel mix with the air and become atomized? Another thing, wouldn't that do harm to the injector since its exposed directly to combustion…

Hey guys, I need some help from the resident experts! I'm trying to gather info on a potential cylinder head swap taking the GMC Acadia's higher-flowing cylinder heads and using them in a 2007 G6 GTP. They will be ported also. What I really need is info on the differences between the two engines, whether it is just the heads and gaskets I need to replace, or whether there are differences in valves/manifolds that will send the price of this swap skyrocketing more than it already is. I'm hoping I just need to put the new heads and gaskets in and the rest will be compatible, that is what the small amount of info I have been able to gather thus far is saying. What I could r…

I took the LeSabre to get gas tonight, and it was running fine. After I got my gas and paid, I get in and it fires right up. Then I shifted out of P. As soon as reverse engaged, the car died. Just died, everything. Interior lights, everyything, basically it faked a completely dead battery. I fiddled with the battery and alternator quickly, to maike sure everything was hooked up, then called to get a jump. Out of curiosity, I got back in and went to put the car into neutral, to make sure I'd be able to get it out from in front of the gas pump. Hark! As soon as I put it into reverse, all the lights came alive, the clock returned, and everything seemed right with th…

I have a quick question. Every now and then I get a metallic grinding sound from the engine (3100 V6). It came back yesterday, and its really loud/not going away. Engine runs great, and damn near perfect. I noticed that the AC compressor wheel is spinning properly, but the outer wheel part moves a bit (er, spins kinda, in steps). Im guessing thats the problem? It sounds like the one in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBiQNgQUJlI That person says AC clutch bearing going bad. Is that what might be happening to mine? Is it safe to keep driving with this issue, or can this eventually seize and screw over the belt? http://www.aa1car.com/library/200…

Is there a positive way to tell if an '03 GP SE has ABS or not? Code on the decklid code label? There's nothing hokey like "ABS" on the wheel centers or brake pedal. Bought a rear bearing/hub assembly as one in the rear is bad, counter guy asked if it has ABS & I assumed 'yes', but it's not standard on other than the GTP, and I'm wondering if it DOESN'T have ABS, that I'll need to swap it for another hub. Will possibly be replacing it tomm evening, so a speedy confirmation would be appreciated before it's exploded in the driveway. BTW- GM wanted $435 for this part, NAPA: $138.

took my car in to get serviced at a tranny shop... fluid and filter called and said my seal is leaking, i thought it might have been a power steering leak...nope.... said a fix was ~$150 i think is this fair, and how hard would it be to do not in a shop...aka driveway. any potentially horribleness could ensue by leaving it alone.. short of tranny fluid leaking out quicker than i check on it?

The info was right on ! Thank You !, it was the crank sensor but removing broken piece in the block seems impossible. A guy says he has a tool for that . I don't. I tried leaving it in for a five mile gamble but the car stalled and the battery was dead just like that. Removed the new one thinking it was broke but it was'nt. Fished around with thin metal objects and I can get the piece to almost lift but it seems caught. Can I remove the oil pan and pluck it out ? Did I ruin the motor by leaving the other piece in there ? Please help , Thanks , Eric It's a 2.5 1986 Century Buick

Since online stories seem to change, I am copy and pasting the instructions here: Uninstall the Copilot app The first thing you should do is uninstall the Copilot app. This is a Windows app and can be uninstalled like any other Windows app. There are a few ways to do this, and we’ll outline two of them. The fast way Hit the Windows Key to open your search and type in Copilot. Right-click the app with your mouse and select Uninstall. A window will pop up asking you to confirm. Do so. The app will be uninstalled. The harder way Open the Settings on your Windows PC. Navigate to Apps and then Installed apps. Find Copilot on your list of insta…

How much excess oil does it take to float the valves in a small block Chevy? I added a bit too much oil to my '68 Camaro (1/2 quart) and while I was draining it, I got to thinking; how much is too much? Would a half a quart over be enough to float the valves or would it have to be significantly more?

Wanted to know if it is TRUE or FALSE that, if you have steel-belted radial tires, you need to rotate front-to-back/same-side in perpetuity (until you wear through that set of tires), or you will adversely impact the service life or the way they wear. Costco seriously DOES NOT have their act together in this regard. Most stores I've been to (about 4 out of 5) default to front-to-back/same side, which will maintain the direction the steel belts will roll Some stores (about 1 out of 5) default to front-to-back/switch sides, which will change the direction the steel belts will roll If I land in a store that wants to cross them, I will usually get into an argumen…

I noticed this recently. When I operate the power door lock switch, all the lights (dome, reading, dashboard) will all of a sudden dim a little for a second. Interesting is that it doesn't do it when cranking the engine, whereas my Cavalier does, as with many other cars. Is this normal or an electrical problem? I didn't seem to notice this on my Cavalier when operating its power locks.

So I'm window shopping for wheels for my car...it's the next item on the list after the engine swap and before I repaint teh car...since that may well be the most expensive part. So for a while now this wheel has been in the running: And I do really like it...until I saw it at this angle: Maybe it's just the lighting but in this photo it looks "flat" and too chunky...I'm gonna try and see if teh dealer has any Avengers with these wheels so I can see them in person. There's a few aftermarket ones I like too... I especially like the 2nd design. It looks silver in one photo but it's actually Hyper Black...which I don't care for. I'm not big on chrome…

I had my C5 dyno'd at Texas-Speed today, the service was excellent, as always. The TSP crew really helped me out and went the extra mile to make sure my car was running at its best. Modifications: PRC 215 heads MS4 Cam LS6 intake manifold TSP 1.75" longtube headers w/ x-pipe underdrive pulley Textralia clutch and flywheel RPM differential with 3.90 gears Results: There was absolutely no 'special dyno treatment' for my car. There were no tricks used here, no icing of the intake manifold, no octane booster, just strapping the car down with pump gas (91 octane) and making some pulls. The intake manifold and throttle body are the next things that n…

OK, Just a bit confused here.. I'm looking to get a Map sensor for my beater car...(93 Cavy, 3.1) I priced one at Napa Auto parts....90 bucks... One at Murray's Auto Parts.....30 bucks... Why the feaking huge price difference? I know I should buy the Napa one (better made, I think)...but this car is just a beater with well over 100k miles on it. I'll be happy if I can get another 15-30k miles on it. :) (that, and it is started to rust pretty good) How long to you think that 30 buck part would last? I take good care of my cars, and I am pretty easy on my beater (grandpa-like driving) What do you guys think?

I've noticed the wagon has been sluggish lately, and running pretty rough. But since it has starting getting colder the last few days, it somehow seems to run better... The idle isn't as rough, a bit more pick up (not much) and pretty much stays that way even after running for a while. It weird that it is affected by weather... Could it be a sensor? Everything else Haven't checked all hoses yet, though) I've been betting on the EGR... What do you guys think? Ask me anything....

Hello, first time around C&G! I have a question about the Ocatane rating on my 1996 Z28 (roughly 60k miles, and stock). This car is NOT my daily driver, and I only drive it when the weather's good...so roughly 3-4 months out of the whole year. Now the problem. Since I dont drive my Z28 all that much, I figured I would let a family member take it to college for the spring-summer semesters. Well, I got the car back about two-three weeks ago, and really did'nt get the chance to drive it until last Saturday...thats when I noticed the engine was pinging like crazy at idle. My first thought was that stupid b* used Diesel or something, no she used E-85…

Yes sirs, my new truck is in. 2007 Sierra regular cab shortbed 2WD. It's a goodlooking truck, to be certain, however, the rear end sits a bit too high for me, it has a definite rake. Lowering blocks seem to be a simple solution. Question for anyone who knows: If my truck has progressive rate springs, that means the more pressure that is put on them, the harder they'll ride, correct? Do lowering blocks compress the springs? Can I install a set of 2" lowering blocks to level the ride height of my truck without affecting the ride? Sorry to sound like a dummy, but this is out of my line of experience. Thanks in advance!

My dad and I are prepping my late grandfather's car to get it driving again (wheels haven't turned in a bit over seven weeks) and ultimately prep it for sale (I'm going to try and buy it myself, hopefully, but that's another story). I ran it for ten minutes here and there while he was hospitalized and it's been plugged in to the block heater, so the engine block isn't frozen. The battery is toast. Won't hold a charge, so obviously that needed to be replaced. When I did get the car running I noticed that the left rear tire pressure sensors are both displaying a tire pressure of "---"kPa rather than the regular 190 kPa being registered from the front tires. I know t…

There are two sounds my car is making and I'm curious as to what they could be/what could be causing them. First of all, I'm driving a 1992 Buick Century Special, 3300 V6, 4A. Tomorrow morning's commute will make me pass 106,000 on my odometer. Sound #1: If you were to take your cell phone, put it on vibrate, place it on a tray and call it, this would be the sound. A metallic, vibrating sound. Oddly enough, it's not really present at a dead stop or park. It's mostly prominent at low speeds (probably because I can't hear it at high speeds). It comes from under the hood. Sound #2: A whirring sound that's getting louder and louder as time goes on. Say you dr…

So it seems just as I get the Mustang running decent again; no miss and so far neither a wheel nor a caliper has flown off, it's the Cavalier's turn. Today I was 'toolin' down the road and all of the sudden the "No Trac" light comes on and I have a loss of power. I pull off to the side of the road (in the ghetto, no less) and the car dies. First thing I do is lock my new Canon in the trunk and look for a weapon.... Oh wait, I actually did that, but that's the wrong story. First thing I notice is this godawful smell of sulfur. My first thought is a battery issue or a cat converter issue. I get out and check the battery, since it would be a quick fix. It's not hot (I was w…

Locally, we have an exhaust shop with a very good rep for workmanship and reasonable prices. They have stainless pipe and a mandrel bender, with a choice of muffler designs. I want to get them to make a dual cat-back system for my truck, but I don't know if I want 3" pipe, or 2 1/2". I have heard that there is such a thing as too little back pressure. Is this something I should be concerned with if I go with 3" pipe? Will 3" pipe have any advantage over 2 1/2? Will the sound be any different with the same mufflers through the bigger pipe? I think I'd like the looks of the 3" pipes doing a side exit behind my wheels. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right d…

Does anyone know of a GM lock cylinder interchange? Since I basically never sell any cars, I have found it convenient to rekey my cars to use the same lock codes. In some cases, this is quite easy... in other cases, its a little tricky. I currently rekey on a set of one sided E/J keys, which makes things easy for 30 years worth of GM cars. However, I'm not real fond of the double sided keys, especially the '90s ones. Unfortunately, I'm not clear if I can swap these out. Generally, will do things modular style, so some sort of interchange is possible... for example, the '97 Tahoe I just got has a shot set of keys and /or cylinders. To use E/J keys, I need cylinders …

I am planning to spend a couple of days soon to clean/detail/wax both the Envoy and G6. One area I want to focus on is the engine bay, as when I went to replace the air filter in the G6 Wednesday I noticed how horrible it looked under the hood. I used to wash the engine bay of my '92 Cavalier Z24 every spring, but when I had a '95 Trans Am in spring of '98 and washed it it wouldn't restart for 3 hours. Since then I've neglected the engine bay for fear of damaging something electrical. Of course now I realize I just need to be careful when cleaning the engine areas. I don't intend to remove the plastic cover on top of the engine (unless it's needed), and plan to use S…

My dad has been driving my mom's 2003 L200 while she's in England, the Sebring is sitting in storage somewhere, hopefully being stolen. Last night he was over here with some other family members and my car was parked in so I took the L to the store to pick a few things up. It started to die on the road, just losing speed, and the dash lights dimmed for a minute, then it got back to normal. When I stopped at a red light, it died and wouldn't start. Putting the key in the run position led to the dash lights flickering and all of the idiot lights flipping out. Putting it in ACC led the dash lights to sync with the hazard lights. The transmission wouldn't shift out of p…

I've been dealing with crap fuel economy all summer. I had tested a bunch of theories, including cleaning the throttle body, the MAF sensor, I used fuel injector cleaner, took my custom tune back to stock, checked my air intake, changed my oil, etc. Even thought it was linked to increased ethanol in the gas. It seems kinda dumb in retrospect, but I never checked my A/C because it was functioning perfectly inside the car. Well this past week, temp and humidity dropped to the point that I turned off the A/C and to my surprise, my fuel economy immediately shot up. I actually turned on the instant MPG display and watched the number drop when I clicked the A/C button on an…

For the past while, whenever I accelerate, a weird whine goes through my trucks' speakers. The more I accelerate, the louder it gets, and sometimes it can be heard during cruising speed. I'm not too smart on car-audio, so I was wondering if anyone has an idea as to what's causing it, and how I can go about fixing it. The truck is a 1990 GMC Sierra, and the sound system is all stock, save for an Audiovox CD changer that was installed back in the 90's, and hasn't been used in years. Thanks.

This is weird, the round plastic trim piece that goes around the knob that adjusts the lumbar support for my seat came off my seat. One of the clips that holds it onto the seat actually snapped, and the two remaining clips won't hold it so now when I sit down, it just pops off (along with the knob). So I just took it off and have the knob on there without the trim piece. I don't think I'm going to buy the trim piece as the knob works and stays attached to the seat just fine w/out it. It doesn't bother me too much, but it definitely makes me wonder if I should be defending GM as adamantly as I do. I know a lot of people who would be pretty bummed if this happened t…

Starting this thread for a single focus and that is job discussion of software in the Auto industry. I took a quick look, Ford has 1,500 software positions open in support of their EV products. GM had over 1,300 listed on their site and since the pandemic took hold has removed most jobs and is showing less than 100 jobs now. Yet on Indeed they show 50 jobs open for software engineers in embedded development. Took a look over at VW which is showing hundreds of software jobs in Tennessee. Seems both BMW and Mercedes-Benz also has lots of openings for software engineers here in the US. This makes one wonder as the auto industry moves to EV's which will require stil…

The new 'Sport' model comes with the 6 speed and 3.6L which would be a nice increase in power for an older 'Nox' or Torrent. I've been unable to locate pictures of the motor to ascertain the mount placement, exhaust routing..... to see if it's fesible. Any thoughts since the body is great but I've got 160,000kms(100k miles) and she'll need a freshening up.

Ok I currently have a 1996 GMC Sierra ext. cab 2WD. My tires suck and I recently got a set of lightly used 31x10.5R15 tires and am wondering if I can stick these on the stock wheels...will they rub? What is the largest size tire I can put on the truck?

So the Grand Marquis needs brake lines and the master cylinder seal. I've never done this before. How hard is it to replace lines? I'm sure it varies from vehicle to vehicle, but a general idea of what to do and the difficulty involved would be helpful.

so with 190K+ Monte's leaking coolant. the pump is about 10 years old with 60K+ miles. seems to only leak after it's warmed up some (pressure in the block? maybe loosing a quart over a week and 150 miles driven, 50 of that is very off and on. the leak is on the front of the engine... where the drips come from, been leaking slowly since late dec. prolly need to check it after 30 mins (after being driven) or so to see if there is an obvious stream. given this, do you think the culprit could be the water pump? what would you recommend i look for? also taking suggestions for cars to replace it with. ... what i'd look for, similar or better gas milage, either a radio…

My 2011 Charger has the automatic climate control system in it. This is the first summer I had owned the car. When I have the HVAC on auto and push the button to turn the recirc on, the light flashes three times and then goes off, indicating that it is not in recirc. I tried using it in the manual mode, and the same thing happens, the light flashes three times and shuts off. Is anyone familiar with this HVAC system or have any ideas what may be wrong? At 95 degrees, is like to run the a/c in recirc, but don't seem to be able to. I will take it to my dealership if needed, just curious if anyone here had any ideas. Thanks!

Okay, 1994 Century. The cupholder in the armrest is broken. I threw it out a while back. Since I've become an avid tea drinker in the morning and putting it in a travel mug, I'm tired of holding beverages while I drive anywhere. I found this, a cupholder to replace the one in the armrest. The guy advertises it for a Buick LeSabre/Park Ave, some Caddy and Olds too, but said it may work in other models. How can I find out if this will work in mine? Was it a standard cupholder mechanism used in GM armrests? eBay Cupholder Link Thingy Anyone know?

I know that when this technology was newer, the cast iron block and aluminum head could be a problem if the engine ever overheated and it warped the head gasket. I know of a friend's parents with a Thunderbird this happened to. However, I don't hear much about this anymore. The Chevy V6s, 3.1, 3.4, 3.5, 3.9 are all cast iron block/aluminum head. Most engines are like this now. Only the 3800 and a few others remain as iron block/iron head. Do you think this is a cause for concern? Have they addressed the fact that a car can run a little hot? Any thoughts or opinions?

Alright, 1977 Monte Carlo. engine is in alright shape. 2 barrel carb. cleaned carb, filter, plugs, wires, etc. Now, when in nutural or park, and you rev the car, its fine, no bog no stall. But when I am driving, and I punch the gas it sometimes dies out. Its only when say I try to spin the tires, so basically take off from a slow, or dead stop. What do you all think ? Thanks.

I own a '99 Chev Malibu (2.4L DOHC) LH9 engine) with 100,000 km (60,000 miles) on the clock and am the original owner. I'm now on my 3rd water pump (1st was a GM, 2nd an OEM, 3rd is now a GM). The part is only $190 but the labor is always around $800 because it's OHC and the timing chain plus the tensioner must come off in order to get the old pump out. I dumped the GM "pink" DexCool antifreeze a long time ago at the mechanic's suggestion and have used good old Prestone green ever since. I run the car on Castrol Syncrude 5W/30 with very regular oil changes and the engine runs like a dream, except for the coolant leaks out the weep hole on the water pump. Are the leak…

After 30 years, the grease and grime has finally caught up with it. There are no physical restrictions from it extending all the way up or all the way down, but it's pretty gross at the seams. Dealing with these things can be a chore, but when they're properly lubricated they work well. What do I clean it with and what do I relubricate it with? .... what?... what did you think I was talking about?

Well... Any ideas? The car picked up a bad miss in February of this year and I put replacement platinum plugs in. That cured the miss for the most part (it has always had a very slight miss at 14-1500 RPM -- Apparently that is a characteristic of some of the 4.6L cars and something that a lot of people 'live with') Round about May, the ugly miss came back. I added some fuel system cleaner thinking that it couldn't hurt and the miss went away. This weekend, I've been moving so the car has been racking up a lot of interstate miles. Sure enough, today I was getting of the interstate and it's like someone flipped a switch. I added more fuel system cleaner (again; it can't…

I can't complain after 15 years and almost a quarter of a million miles. From another thread, I have to get either a tie rod or a front wheel bearing assembly fixed...but that can wait until early next week. Now, I evidently have a sensor problem. For a while now, the SES light came and went intermittently and the only noticeable problem was a surge right after shifting into OD (4th) at relatively low rpms (1600 or so) and, right after shifting, if the engine is put under load. It was sort of a flat spot. Now the SES light is on "full time." Upon start-up, the 3800 revs up a little more than usual, idling is rough and the tach seems to wander (better with A/C on, whi…

He said he's looked on e-bay and carparts.com and all he can find are the skins. He needs the whole door - frame and all. I appreciate any help you could give me.

I want to get my sister a lil gift for her bird, I cant afford all that much, so I was thinkin about some speakers. Right now she has to wear headphones when shes in it. Anyway I was looking in the trunk and saw that its got 6x9's in the rear, and www.sounddomain.com says that it should have 4x10's in the dash, but I dont see where their at. Was it like an option to have dash speakers? Does anyone have anything similar, camaro etc. that you could like snap a photo of so I know exactly where they are. Its kind of hard to sneek into her car to check it out. Thanks a million!

Okay, so I got home and my dad asked me to go online and try to figure this out... A guy at my dad's work had the battery in his Protege die. A couple guys went out there and replaced the battery and the + and - "accidentally" touched together... Well, they checked the fuses inside and under the hood and none of them were bad. However the radio, lights, and keyless entry aren't working now. Any idea what blew? Don't most radios have a fuse in the back of them or somewhere just in case? I think they might need to check that, too, if there is one...

I know there are a few of you who have one of the 3800 engines in your cars. What kind of real world fuel mileage are you seeing? Highway and city? I'm pondering a Riviera as there are a couple decent ones available locally. Also, am I correct in thinking that the mid/late 90's 3800 suffered the infamous intake(?) gasket failure problem which the 3100's suffered? TIA!

Any of you who have been following my blog posts will know that we recently discussed the meaning of tint percentages in terms of VLT and darkness. This is an important topic for consideration not just for aesthetic reasons (i.e., you want your car to have a dark enough tint to look good) but for legal issues as well (you dont want you tints to get you a ticket). In my last post I tried to point out that the legal limit for tint percentages varies from state to state so it is always important for you to check with your local authorities to be sure that your tint falls within the acceptable range. One great way to be sure you are in compliance with state laws is to check w…

Okay, I'm getting tired of this. It looks like the 3rd car it going to need tires..not because of milage, but because of of rot. And since I just replaced TWO full sets of tires already (big $$), I've had to look at my options... While I'm not usually a fan of private tires...I looked at a set of National Finalist (60 bucks each, mounted on all) I was actually impressed by them...they reminded me of Cooper tires...50k warranty... I've heard all the horror stories of those "cheap" tires....but my coworkers are running Republic, and Sunny tires, with no issues at all..... And I take good care of my tires, and because of my wide size ( 195/70/14), there really is…

thinking it has to be a relay.... try to start it... after about 1/2 sec after keeping the key on "start" it kicks in, act's like a dead battery during that 1/2 second, but nothing unusual happens. does this sound likely? 99monte 143k miles would my assumption be right, and any help how find the relay? I have a 2007 Silverado Classic 4.8L V8. While going to the local Chevy dealer for maintenance they are recommending a transmission fluid change at around 30,000 miles. I am currently at 36,000 so I was going to have them change the transmission fluid. When I called to schedule I expected to use the GM Goodwrench coupon that came in the mail. It was for $129.95. However when I called to schedule they said the coupon didn't apply since I have the Dexron-VI and it is really expensive so they said it would cost $220. This got me curious so I checked the manual and it recommends 100,000 normal and 50,000 severe driving/towing. I drive mostly highway miles and don't tow.…

Hey, I've got the Big 3 scheduled: Minor tune-up this month (mostly for the plugs), Motor mounts next month (Dec.), and Trans fluid change, drop, drain, filter, the following month (Jan.) These will hopefully enable me to get to the 300K mark without these major service items So, question on the motor mounts. The car in question is my 92 Regal with the 3800 V6. I'm fairly convinced they (1 and/or 2) need replacement and will be letting a shop who is pretty straightforward do it. So, can changing them open another can of worms? Meaning, it is possible that, during this changeover, the position of the engine can change so as to mess up a tolerance with somet…

I have a 03 Silverado with Autotrac and the front axles will not engauge in auto 4x4, 4hi, or 4lo. I figured I'd tell you all my plans for the Camaro. I'm going all-out with it. Well, as all-out as I can for right now while staying N/A and only tinkering with the engine and rear end. I bought a Pontiac G6 in September 05 and started having battery problems the beginning of December. Dead battery the beginning of December, had it jump started and brought it to the dealership. They couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Two weeks later the battery was dead again. I had it towed dead so that they could find the problem. I was told that the battery was no good and it wouldn't hold a charge so they replaced my battery. Everything was fine until the beginning of February, again I had a dead battery. I had it towed again and still couldn't find the problem. The dealership called GM Tech Support and they said that I don't drive the car enough to recharge …

2005 Cobalt with 5 speed manual So the other day my wife was driving along, shut the car off while rolling then put it into gear letting the car start while rolling. I'm in want of a better audio system in my 1990 Sierra extended cab. Right now, everything is stock and I'd like to see if anyone here can give me a hand on how I should go about replacing the system, as well as give me some recommendations of speaker types and brands that I ought to consider. From what I understand, I'm looking for a new head-unit and four speakers - two in the front of the dash and two in the pillar. But I have no idea where to start and whether I need an amplifier or if I'd like a subwoofer or not. Also, I'm unsure about wattages and how they play into things. How much does the TIME between oil changes matter? Its been about 4 months since my last oil change, but I've put less than 2000 miles on the car since then. I plan on getting it changed this week, but I was just curious how much of a factor time was in the life of oil if the miles are low and not very hard.
