Hi all, As far as I can tell, there are 2 companies making 1/18th-scale Solstii: Yat Ming and Road Signature. Does anyone happen to have one o feach and can compare them for me? I've seen the Road Signature one in a store, and it looks nice enough, thru the box, anyway. I'd like a blue one, FWIW. Just wondering if one is better than the other for any reason- accuracy, detail, quality, etc. TIA!

Won it at a Christmas party last night. Jada Toys has this concept and the new Camaro as part of their "big time muscle" remote control cars. It's a good size remote control car, and brings back lots of memories. Plus, it's fun to chase my dog with it...he's 50 lb collie/chow mix and scared to death of the thing...ha ha

Never actually tried the online racing part of these, but added two more to the collection. I have an orange Series 1 '10 Camaro. Apparently the chrome is limited edition, since the standard Series 2 Camaro color is black. Got these on clearnace at Meijers, making the price much more reasonable.

New series, I skipped picking up the orange/black TA, since I prefer the authentic colors. Also got a teal '61 Dart Phonix. In this series - but not out yet - that I will pick up - '76 Coupe DeVille (lt yellow & black versions) and a '71 Dart Swinger

...but too bad it's just another Matchbox and not the real thing. This one is pretty cool, and I was lucky to find more than one on the rack: (btw, sorry for the crappy droid phone pics)

I've tried looking online for any new GM-related diecasts from Johnny Lightning, Matchbox, and Hot Wheels (to name a few) with no luck. So I'm calling on our expert in this area, OldsGuy (and anyone else "in the know"), if you've heard about, read, or saw something online indicating what GM-related diecast collectibles will be issued in 2010 to please post here. TIA!

Are there any plastic model builders here ? I was just reading on a model car group that I belong to that there will be no more AMT plastic models. I guess because of poor sales but this is a real shame and disapointment to the model car community. Hopefuly another company buys the molds and continues to produce them.

Is anybody selling or knows someone who is selling, vintage buick,pontiac,chevrolet,oldsmobile, and dodge car ads?

Woo hoo!! I scored an original, built, complete, restorable AMT '59 Buick on ebay tonite... I have the AMT/SMP '59 Chevy Impala ht & conv '59 Pontiac Bonneville ht & conv kits and the Johan '59 Olds 4dr ht, but no Buicks.

Dont remember seeing this before. It is from a Chinese company.

Picked up this little baby at TARGET this past Saturday while doing some last minute "Easter" gift shopping. Here are the details: Made by Maisto, 1:16 scale radio controlled vehicle, multi-directional (forward, reverse, left & right turning), available in gold (shown above) and two-tone black & bright green, comes with dashboard-styled controller, cost $19.99, requires 1 9-volt & 4 AA batteries to operate. I have not opened it yet, but my 2 year-old son is dying waiting for me to. He can't wait to play with "daddy's new toy truck"!!!

From the Kmart collectors event last weekend...

Was at a Border recently and picked up a coffee table book with 100 years of GM cars. It's a great read with lots of great pictures of GM cars throughout the century and good historical information on the company. It was $20 at Borders. if you find it, grab it. It's a good read.

Some new stuff from this weekend.

Today, I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up: 1976 Cutlass Salon (gold with white vinyl top) 1970 Chevelle SS (sea green with black racing stripes) I also saw a 1993 Mustang Cobra that I really wanted, but the die was really crappily done. The wheel wells were too big and the detail was lacking. My current die-cast garage:
