A blue sedan and a gray sedan and the new rear treatment is extrodinarily craptacular. Makes the car looks smaller and far, far chintzier than the pre-'06 models.

:puke: is all I have to say. Pictures make it look decent....in person its not. It has no good views. It makes the incredibly dull and conservative previous generation look like a supermodel.

I know you guys are HUGE Honda haters, but this is something I was kicking around in my mind. Even with the gas prices the way they are now, big cars seem to be making a comeback. I was thinking that Honda should build a rear-drive chassis intended for big cars and the V-8 (whenever they DO decided to build it). The Honda brand car (called the Inspire) would be longer than the Acura RL and the Acura version (the FSX, named after and similar to an old luxury concept sedan) would basically be a LWB car suitable for limo conversion, fit the upcoming V-10, allow for the reclining back seats, and come in as the new Acura luxury flagship. Great competition for the LX cars…

Going After the Kids By Scott Oldham Date posted: 09-22-2005 As usual, it comes down to the numbers. Honda says there will be 81.5 million Americans between the ages of 15 and 34 by the end of the decade. That's enough iPod addicts to make Gen Y the largest consumer group ever, topping even the baby boomers. In order to take advantage of this next "age wave" Honda is taking action now. After selling 7 million Civics over 22 years, the company is shifting the Civic's U.S. market focus from baby boomers to Gen Y-ers. It even says it has designed this all-new eighth generation of the Civic specifically for that 80-plus million who are packing iPods. This qualifi…

Honda Motor Co. has decided not to build an eight-cylinder engine because high fuel prices are pushing buyers to more efficient motors. The company will focus instead on expanding diesel and gasoline-electric engine output. "It's not the time to make a V-8," Honda Chief Executive Takeo Fukui said. "We need to focus on diesels and hybrids first." Fukui told reporters in Tokyo Aug. 4 that Honda was studying whether to build V-8 engines and "will decide in three years" on using them. He said Tuesday that the company has dropped any plan to build the motors. Honda this year expects to build 70,000 diesel motors, for models in Euro…

Posted over at www.vtec.net, figured I'd post it here and get some comments. I personally think it's great and should allow Honda to try out more new engine technologies in an extremely competative environment, things that will transfer over to our street cars. Now that they own 100% of British American Racing Honda, I'm hoping they will be more competative too. I certainly hope Honda is the first Japanese manufacturer to win an F1 Championship, and not Toyota. http://world.honda.com/news/2005/c051004.html Honda acquires all shares in BARH Ltd. TOKYO, Japan, October 4, 2005– Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that Honda has agreed to purchase all s…

The newly redesigned rear end of the '06 Accord does more than help the design find a little spice. The new standard 18" rims were absolutely awesome in person and the interior has had minor changes with the addition of some nice bright work on the center console. The shifter for the automatic is now a manual type. Chrome exhaust tips have been added a la coupe. All in all I expect that Honda will gain tons of sales off of this "new" model. This was the perfect addition to a nearly flawless car. The new Civic finds its own harmony. Unlike so many other cars on the road today, it does not try to be funky in design rather understated. The lines a…

Can the Honda Civic be cool again? Automaker plans to spend big to attract youthful buyers By Kathy Jackson Automotive News / September 05, 2005 CHICAGO -- Honda is offering the usual goodies on the redesigned Civic - more power, a fancier stereo system and side curtain airbags. But what the automaker really wants to add to the car is youthful image. "We're trying to make Civic cool again," says Jeff Conrad, vice president for advertising and public relations at American Honda Motor Co. Inc. "The last-generation Civic was vanilla, no emotion." The four Civic models range from a hybrid to the nearly 200-hp sporty Si. The sedan an…
