From the March C/D i just got today 98 cubic feet interior space -this intrigues me, my old Diamante had 97 cubic feet, as did the saturn L series, so this makes me think the new Sentra is quite large inside for a compact series car. 135hp 2.0 litre engine with 6 speed manual standard -fun and mpg? this car might be more appealing than i thought it would be. certainly its nicer than the corolla. space in vehicles is awesome. civic coupe has like FiFTEEN cubicfeet LESS inside. Sad.

2007 Nissan 350Z Images I came across these pics courtesy of My350Z.com of the 2007 350Z. The only noticable exterior change from the 2006 model is the (focused on) new hood. It has been redesigned with a power bulge to accomodate the new VQ35HR engine, the same engine in the new G35. Lookin good lookin good.... Spy photographers have caught the first ever images of the redesigned Nissan Maxima, a month ahead of it’s New York Auto Show introduction. With sales expected to begin this fall, the seventh-generation will be badged as a 2009 model. A Renault-Nissan diesel powerplant is expected to follow the initial engine offerings, arriving in a couple years as a 2011 model. In addition to the diesel motor, a Toyota-developed hybrid system may also be offered – and we’re expecting this as early as the 2010 model year! Watch for the uncloaked version to debut next month! 2010 Altima loses its manual transmission options according the article i just read on C/D. For the 4 and the 6. So, let's inventory this. which of the midsizers offer MT? start out with the 6 cylinders. anyone? Are there any 6 cyl. MT cars left in this class? Fusion, Camry, Accord, M6, Subie still offer it on the 4 cyl. Subaru 2.5GT is the only 'performance' manual now I think. Subie 2.5GT wins by default? VW Passat and CC offer manuals but they are only 207hp. Ford Ecoboost if it offers MT will slot in under the subie but above the others. Buick v6 Regal with manual may have that niche to themselves! SHOCKING!

A Nissan Leaf Limo? Its Not A Joke William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com August 27, 2011 Coming soon to an awards red carpet ceremony, a Nissan Leaf limo? Yes. Imperial Coach Builders, a subsidiary of Electric Car Company, inc., has announced they have received a order to build a Nissan Leaf limo. The company plans to stretch the all-electric vehicle by about 48 inches, increasing the overall length by roughly 27 percent. Imperial says with the extra length, they will double the seating in the rear passenger compartment. They don't say how they'll do it, but most likely it will have the seats to face each other. Imperial didn't say how mu…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com September 10, 2013 Nissan has been on a tear lately with introducing new models. So far the company has unveiled the Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra, and Versa Note. Their latest showing at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show is the new 2014 Rogue. This is an important vehicle for Nissan as the Rogue is currently Nissan's second best selling model in the U.S. The new Rogue's design is very Pathfinder-ish. Imagine taking the Pathfinder and sticking it in front of a shrink-ray, that's the 2014 Rogue's design in a nutshell. Inside, the Rogue gets the same dashboard layout as the new Altima and the option of a third-row seat. Power wi…

To be fair, make sure you pick the 5.3l Silverado; it's fairly comparable hp-wise, but lacks about 40ft-lbs of torque.. but is a bit of a push in my book as the Silverado gets better gas mileage. Nissan revamps its Quest minivan's now-plush interior By Anita Lienert ANN ARBOR -- In its zeal to win over women who hate minivans, Nissan went overboard with its 2004 Quest, turning off empty-nesters and hardcore minivan users with a poorly designed cabin. The most off-putting Quest feature was a mammoth center pillar -- sometimes irreverently described as the "telephone pole" -- in place of a more traditional instrument panel. The pillar held the gauges and controls, forcing the driver to constantly glance to her right to check things like speed. It was distracting, ugly and polarizing. The Quest, which was launched in mid-2003, was a painful exercise in hipness, …

Edmunds Evaluation: 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5SE Remember the '80s? You know — leg warmers, the Cold War, Punky Brewster? At the tail end of that let's-just-forget-it-ever-happened decade, Nissan introduced a revamped Maxima, the ads for which bore the well-known tagline: "The four-door sports car." Fast-forward 18 years. Driving the 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE, that old tagline keeps popping into the brain. And while real sports cars don't have automatic transmissions or front-wheel drive or even a backseat, it's obvious that Nissan has quietly made the Altima the spiritual successor of that tagline's underlying philosophy: Just because a car has four doors doesn't mean it…

Part family sedan, part hooligan By Karl Brauer Date posted: 04-17-2006 The Altima is arguably the most important Nissan product of the last decade. If you go back a mere 10 years and look at Nissan circa 1996 you'll see a company struggling to survive in the North American market. The Z was about to die. The "premium" products coming out of Infiniti were lackluster at best, and nothing in Nissan's future portfolio indicated a turnaround was anywhere on the horizon. Fast-forward to the New York auto show — spring of 2001. Nissan rolls out an all-new Altima that offers more interior space, more horsepower and considerably more attitude than the former family sedan be…

We just experienced firsthand the unbridled awesomeness contained within the body shell of Nissan's new über-Mechagodzilla, the GT-R. Apparently, Nissan is a true believer in the car's kickassedness and would prefer if owner's didn't eff it up with superfluous wings, flares and other accoutrements that have no hope of making the car better than it already is. Those who have imported a JDM GT-R to the United States will find this page in their owner's manual that warns in no uncertain terms against pulling a Paul Walker on their GT-R. Just leave the car be, folks. You can't do better than what Nissan already did, so don't try. Source: AutoBlog

Not Happy Loss of GT-R sports car to Nissan angers Infiniti dealers By KATHY JACKSON | AUTOMOTIVE NEWS AutoWeek | Published 04/17/06, 10:36 am et NEW YORK -- Infiniti dealers were incensed last week by Nissan Motor Co.'s decision to sell the high-performance GT-R sports car under the Nissan brand. Infiniti lacks a sports car, and dealers desperately wanted the GT-R as a halo for the brand. It goes on sale in the United States in spring 2008. People hired at Nissan North America after Jan. 1 won't have a company pension when they retire. And Nissan employees and retirees who didn't reach age 65 by the end of last year won't be included in a company-sponsored medical plan once they reach 65. Nissan says the changes are part of an effort to keep its retirement plan viable and to remain competitive in the automotive industry. The soon-to-be Nashville-based automaker has changed its retirement plan for new hires, going from a traditional pension with a gu…

Nissan has released new images of its URGE design concept, set to debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The motorcycle-inspired car seats three and focuses on light weight and performance. It’s also the first car to offer a “fully integrated gaming system,” according to the automaker. It features a built-in Xbox 360 from Microsoft that enables drivers (while parked) to play “Project Gotham Racing 3″ using the car’s own steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal while viewing the game on a flip-down seven-inch LCD screen. Nissan has played it safe for the past couple of generations with the Altima to some success. But with the sales decline in midsize sedans and automakers like Honda and Toyota taking bigger risks with their sedans, Nissan knew that it had to make some ambitious changes with the next Altima. The end result made its debut today at the New York Auto Show. Nissan didn't go full-on drastic in terms of the exterior like the new Accord or Camry, but the 2019 Altima is very different from the model it replaces. A fair amount of the design - especially in the side profile and lighting come from the 2017 Vmotion 2.0 concept. The front end takes ideas from the larger Maxima - t…

Next Nissan Altima To Get New CVT & Supercharged Hybrid William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com October 13, 2011 Nissan is hard at work on the next generation Altima due out sometime next year as a 2013 model and is expected to see an increase in fuel economy thanks to two items. First is a new CVT that will improve the fuel economy by as much as 10%. Nissan reduced the transmission’s internal friction by 40 percent and raised the CVT’s gear coverage ratio from 6.0 to 7.0. Given the current CVT in the Altima helps gives it a EPA rating of 32 MPG highway, the new one should see that number climb. Also, Nissan is working on their own in-ho…

Nissan Chief: Hybrid Cars a "Terrible" Business Prospect Date Posted 09-23-2005 PARIS, France — Not all automakers are rushing headlong to embrace hybrids as a solution to fuel economy woes. Carlos Ghosn, joint CEO of Nissan and Renault, described gasoline-electric hybrid cars as a "terrible business proposition," despite moves by many rivals to expand production of the vehicles. "Hybrid sales account for less than 1 percent of global sales," Ghosn said. "It is a niche technology. David Shepardson / Detroit News Washington Bureau Link to Original Article @ DetNews WASHINGTON -- Nissan Motor Co.'s first gasoline-electric hybrid model goes into production next week, but the vehicle will not be profitable and the automaker is only bringing it to market to comply with California's strict emissions regulations, a top Nissan official said Thursday. Nissan and Toyota HD Trucks Postponed Both Toyota and Nissan were planning on entering the full-size heavy duty pickup truck market soon, but both automakers have delayed joining the fray for at least a couple years. Nissan had hoped it could build a heavy-duty version of the Titan off of the half-ton's platform, but it's clear that the truck's frame won't be able to meet the minimum payload and towing targets that heavy-duty truck buyers demand. Though the full-size half-ton Toyota Tundra (shown wearing its work dungarees) will enter production in less than two months, the automaker's plan for a heavy-duty version has been postponed for undisclosed reasons. Toyota ma…

Nissan cuts SUV, truck production Japanese automaker's U.S. plants slash output of Titan, other big vehicles after rise in gas prices. Christine Tierney / The Detroit News Saddled with large inventories of light trucks, Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. has cut back production of the large Titan pickup and big sport utility vehicles built at its U.S. plants. Last month, Nissan slashed output of the Titan at its Canton, Miss., plant by 29 percent, to 5,680 vehicles. Three years ago, Nissan anticipated that it would be producing more than 8,000 Titans a month on average at the plant to sell more than 100,000 a year. I was watching a best motoring episode and the Drift King (Keichi Tsuchiya) mentioned that the Nissan GTR is not a true Supercar due to the fact that it's too heavy. He does have a point. The GTR weights 3800 lbs and is heavier than all the other cars in its category. Also, it has back seats which some people would classify as more of a high performance sports coupe. I highly respect the GTR's capabilities but feel there's a certain untangible that is missing. Maybe it's driving feel, or how you can't feel the passion when driving it hard like you do with a Ferrari 458. What do you guys/girls think?

Nissan Launches "7 Days in a Sentra" Ad Campaign NASHVILLE, TENN. (October 6, 2006) -- Inspired by the research photos taken inside the cars of hundreds of 20-30 year olds, the all-new 2007 Nissan Sentra will debut this month in an unprecedented marketing campaign. The research demonstrated that young people use their car as if it were another room in their home – filled with gym clothes, sports equipment, music (in all delivery forms), food and ways to communicate with the outside world. “7 Days in a Sentra” is the simple but ingenious notion that will be translated into television commercials, webisodes, online executions and a special 2-minute piece – take one man…

Seems while Nissan has talked in fuzzy grey circles about version 2.0, finally some details are coming out as well as the capture of the Mules running around or as we like to call in the Tech Industry, BETA Baby! So with this ugly heavily wrapped black nose (Full Photos Here) from Motor Authority, we can clearly see that version 2.0 is based on the IDS concept. In fact as multiple various other auto web sites report it really does have some clear connections to Nissans Micra which was launched at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. …

Just announced in the news......Nissan is moving their N.A. headquarters from Gardena (L.A.) to the Nashville area where they have an assembly plant (Smyrna, TN.) 1,300 jobs will be transferred from Southern California to the Nashville area. Personally, I think this is a MAJOR mistake for Nissan. Why? 1) The car culture in Southern California is second-to-none in this country. 2) Trend-setting is also second-to-none (maybe along with New York) in this country. 3) Southern California is an automotive dynamo with numerous different manufacturers having their N.A. headquarters here and most also have design studios here (GM even has one in North Hollywood.) That…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com January 28, 2013 The Nissan Titan hasn't really changed since its introduction back in 2003. Sticking with the same 5.6L V8 engine and the choice of either a extended or crew cab means the Titan hasn't set the sales charts on fire. Sales last year for Titan totaled 21,576, a far cry from the nearly 87,000 sales in 2005, its best year. But with the 2015 Titan, Nissan is hoping the new model will become a contender. Edmunds had the chance to sit down with Pierre Loing, vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy for Nissan North America, Inc. Loing hinted that a new Titan was on the way and is expecting…

The Nissan Altima is the second-best selling model in the midsize sedan class. But in a class so competitive where new models are introduced every couple of months, no one rests. Case in point is Nissan introducing a refreshed version of the Altima for the 2016 model year. Nissan is pulling some design cues from the new Maxima to use on the Altima. They include a new front fascia with V-shaped grille and LED headlights. Around back are a set of wider taillights. Nissan is quick to point out 2016 model boasts a 10 percent improvement in coefficient of drag, which is said to improve fuel economy. The interior largely stays the same except a new five-inch screen for the …

Nissan has been busy promoting the new Titan XD with the 5.0L Cummins Turbodiesel V8. But we haven't heard a peep about what gas engines would be available until today. This will come paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Although this V8 shares a similar displacement to the current V8 engine found in the Titan, Nissan is quick to point out there are differences. The new 5.6 V8 features direct-injection, four-valves per cylinder, variable valve event and lift technology, and a higher compression ratio (11.2:1 vs.…

While the likes of Tesla and the Chevrolet Bolt have been fighting over the spotlight, the Nissan Leaf has been quietly going about its business. Since its launch, Nissan has moved over 283,000 Leafs, making it the best selling EV in the world. But Nissan is hoping to take some of that spotlight back with the introduction of the 2018 Leaf. The second-generation Leaf looks like it will fit in with other Nissan models. The front end is similar to what you'll find on the Sentra and Altima with the V-Motion grille and boomerang-shaped lights. The rest of the shape is mostly unchanged as the hard points from the first-generation model carry over. Dimension-wise, the 2018 L…

Nissan has debuted the 2020 Nissan Patrol for the Middle East. We had gotten a preview when the Nissan Patrol leaked out on Facebook a few weeks ago. The Nissan Patrol is known as the Nissan Armada in the U.S., however we will not get this update until at least the 2021 model year as the 2020 Armadas are already on dealer lots. Overall, the Patrol's formula remains the same, a chiseled, upright SUV with a posh interior and real off-road chops. It takes on the company's V-Motion grille with a broad flat bottom. It's flanked by C-shaped LED running lamps. At the rear, there are fewer changes, though Nissan did install new tail-lamps with sequential turn sign…

Nissan's showing at last week's LA Auto Show was a bit underwhelming with mid-cycle refreshes of the Maxima and Murano. But Nissan had bigger plans for LA. In what is being called a highly unusual turn, Japanese prosecutors have arrested Carlos Ghosn again while he was out on bail on suspicion of trying to enrich himself at Nissan's expense. Ghosn has called on the French government for help. Ghosn was free on $9 Million bail at the time. Prosecutors say that Ghosn had caused over $5 million in losses at Nissan Motor Co in a breach of his legal duties to the company with the goal of personal gain. The losses come from the alleged shifting of funds through a dealer in Oman into an account that Ghosn owned. Prosecutors visited Ghosn's residence on Thursday for questioning and later took him into custody. Ghosn rema…
