Now, if they only brought this over

You mean a Chinese-built version of the LAST GENERATION Jetta with a facelift? And the City Jetta...also, last generation Jetta.

Ya, basically they're resuming the old Jetta and Golf for 2007 for the Canadian market... Calling them the "City"...

Ya, but now you can buy a new-old Jetta for 16 grand...

But the Chinese-facelifted one looks interesting...

Interesting strategy..it may well work..they seem pretty well equipped, and the previous Golf and Jetta were well-designed cars..interesting that the VW Canada website has the new City Golf and Jetta together, but also the '06 Golf on the site, the Rabbit, the new style Jetta and the old-style '06 Jetta wagon...(must still have plenty of '06s available).

That's a great deal... a Golf or Jetta for less than a Corolla or Civic.

I'd buy one, in white with tints... 8)

Btw... am I the only one who thinks cars look great in white with tints?

"City" has been used by VW for years to sell old models. They're still selling the "City Golf" in South Africa, which is the FIRST generation Golf.

My wife had a white Jetta City when I met her. I didn't have to pressure her out of it because it self destructed at 107,000 miles. After putting over 3 grand into it to get it running again, I think we got $2,000 for it in trade-in and that's because we knew the dealer.

I think the Golf City would work here in the States, only because the Golf name no longer exists here and it wouldn't bring resale values to a grinding halt. The Jetta, well I do like the old Jetta style (or lack of) A LOT better than the melted baby-Passat they have now, having two cars with the same name with different body styles (old gen, next gen) IMO is not the wisest thing to do.

Im happy. I love the old Jettas styling compared to the new one.

VW Canada has the wierdest lineup now. Watch this:

I can get a new-old Jetta (City) for $16,700.

I can get a new-new Jetta for $24,975.

Or, I can get a new-old Jetta Wagon for $27,780.

Try this now:

You can get a new-old Golf (City) for $16,700.

Or, get a new-new Golf, but called a Rabbit for $19,990.

Or, you can still get a new-old Golf, still called a Golf at $22,620.

Or, get a new-new Golf GTI, only called GTI, for $29,375.:blink:

Confused yet? :lol2:
