Ford at the Paris Motor Show will showcase the 2007 Ford Mondeo Concept. The vehicle is a concept in name, but will closely resemble the production version. Only a wagon version has been shown, but a sedan will also be offered. As anticipated, the new Mondeo borrows heavily from the 2005 Iosis concept. It's not known if Ford has plans to bring the vehicle to North America. Typically, the Mondeo has been limited to Europe. The car will star alongside the Aston Martin DBS in the forthcoming "Casino Royale" James Bond film. Gallery after the jump…

I don't like the revised headlights... I liked the Iosis better. I don't like the front over-hang, it looks silly and unnecessary, but still chill... I guess... and why not just call this the Mondeo?

and it wouldn't hurt to put bigger wheels on this thing...

Um... It is called Mondeo (hence the name on the license plate, name in the pic urls, and name in the press release).

Anyways, it looks good for a Ford. Sleek and modern. Love the taillights.

Yeah, it was hinted that the Iosis was the new face of the Euro Ford. Looks pretty good. A pretty bold move.

Sweet wagon..love the interior... I don't think the next Mondeo is on the Mazda6 platform, but on a lengthened CD? platform that the Euro Focus, Mazda3, and S40 are on...

I love it, this thing needs to come here as a Ford or Mercury or whatever. As RBB pointed out, it does look like the 6 wagon, especially around the ass, but I dont think thats a bad thing.

The lower air dam is atrocious, but everything else looks pretty good. The interior is above average but not great. It's great for a Ford though.

BLAH> the iosis sedan concept was nice.

where is ford going with styling these days?

Ford's styling is like a young boy getting his first piece......it's all over the place.

Looks great. If Ford brought this here, they could definately kick some serious import a**. But the current execs are perfectly happy producing vehicles that are inspired by mid to late 90 VWs.

At least slap a Mercury badge on this and sell it. Come on Ford! This is just getting ridiculous. At least GM is doing something similar with Saturn.

Proof that Ford hates America.

Hey, Ford, why aren't you giving your home-market any good products? Are you that anemic?

Remember the Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique? Those were a Mondeo of a previous generation and they were flops. Too small and too pricey, IIRC. I can understand why Ford would be gunshy about bringing it back here (especially in the state they're in now).

But completely wrong. The new Mondeo is based on a stretched Focus (Mazda3) platform, not Mazda's larger Mazda6 like the North American sedans.

It wouldn't surprise me if eventually the Mazda6, Fusion, and Mondeo all share a stretched Focus platform (EUCD).

Unlike most concepts, I think this will look better in production form. More normal wheels and a deep metallic paint will do wonders. The interior looks nice, but not all that modern or groundbreaking. Hopefully it drives as well as the old one.
