"The Clincher"

My idea for a 2010 Chevelle SS concept as a result of some in-class sketching.

I'd make the headlights a little shapier with a larger grille (like Northie's avatar).. But I love the rearend. Nice job!

The front says "'70", while the rear says "'71-'72". It looks really good.

I'm refining the design. I really like this concept. And I have to say that the quality of my sketches have improved since I invested in a set of french curves and elipses.

Yes, I want one. Just came from the Super-Run Hotrod show here in Henderson Nevada this past weekend, and many Chevelles there. This is the rightful continuance!

me being a fan of oldschool throwbacks tossed into futuristic designs... i would love to see the bowtie on the grill replaced with the SS logo... and where you have the SS underneath the headlights... put the engine displacement...

its little things like that that will have the old school Chevelle fans clamoring for this...

another thing... your interior sketch is frighteningly devoid of a clutch... please fix that before i cry myself to sleep... thanks... :D

I don't think you can use a basket-handle shifter for a manual tranny. . . :D

so change the shifter handle... :P

i refuse to accept this as "the clincher" unless it has a manual trans

Okay, okay, okay. I'll do a new interior sketch, just for you.

And can anyone guess where the title of the thread came from?

YES!!

and did the title come from yur opinion that a vehicle like this would "clinch" GMs return to glory?

or is it from an obscure movie/song/book reference that noone except you and maybe 68 and balthy have ever heard of? :P:lol:

"The Clincher" is a song by the band Chevelle.

Thought I'd make a reference there. :D

It's going to have to go on the back-burner, Monte. I'm sorry. I was going to do something else with this sketch and do a detailed interior sketch, but one of my french curve/elipse tools broke and it was the one I use the most, too.

I've got to run to somewhere like Office Max that sells drafting tools and pick up another set.

The sketch is good; it's a cool car that I'd buy if I could afford it. However, I'm not seeing alot of "Chevelle," more "SS Concept" than anything.

What if you did something like the '68 Chevelles (I believe), where the front end was angled backwards? A modern take on that would be cool.
