I dont like your ringtone

What do you have set as your ringtone? I've got "Go Home, Get Stoned" set for most callers, my family groups ringtone is Basket Case by Green Day (Do you have the time to listen to me whine...) which fits perfectly. I also have Brown-Eyed Girl, Lets Get it On and Cotton Eyed Joe as ringtones for various groups.

"Cold Hard Bitch" by jet for my sister.....perfect fit. Other than that I let people pick what they want their ring tone to be. A couple of girls I know are set to "London Bridge" by Fergie, and other set to "La La" by Ashlee Simpson. My best bud Ryan is set to "The Future Freaks Me Out" by Motion City Soundtrack. A few others have picked some out for themselves, but anyone else is "Friends of Mine" by Bowling for Soup.

Haste the Day - "Long Way Down" (Goo Goo Dolls cover) is my primary

A few friends have unique ringtones:

"Down," "As You Sleep" and "I Woke Up In A Car" by Something Corporate

"Barbie Girl" by Aqua (if you knew the girl you'd understand)

"Feel Good Inc." Gorillaz

"Do You Think You're Better Off Alone?" Alice DJ

"American Idiot" Green Day

"Can't Wait To Be King" Lion King Soundtrack

"Bite To Break Skin" Senses Fail

and maybe a few others I'm forgetting...and then I have a ton more I just don't even use anymore...

it's not training...and they aren't doing it...you do it yourself so you know who's calling before you look at the phone...or to perpetuate an inside joke.

I also have some people with the "Silent" ringtone so my phone never rings when they call because I really don't like them but they just won't go away.

I was visiting my buddy in the NASCAR shop in my hometown before it closed down a few months ago. There were a few customers in the back, and we were hanging out by the cash. All of a sudden we hear a woman moaning in the back. We both look around like - where the hell is the porn coming from? Then the guy whips out his phone and answers.

Woman orgasming as a ringtone. I was simply in shock.

Metallica - Whereever I may roam

Speaking of ringtones, have you guys seen this?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/06/12/...in1701359.shtml

I saw this on TV and was like WTF? Is this a joke? You're actually charging people for nothing? I'd like to see the morons who buy into this one.

Though, I can deffinitely hear it from that link (must not have had the TV turned up high enough).

No cellphone for me, and I've never had a moment when I thought, "I need a cellphone." Besides, most people just use them to send pointless and stupid text messages... and take stupid photos of themselves which they think are candid but really aren't.

Ringtones can get on my nerves... especially if it's "Sweet Child o' Mine." Hearing it in MIDI just makes me grind my teeth.

I can see some merits to texting... but they are wasted on 99% of the population...

"whre r u"

"71 1"

"wurd"

"totlay"

"u hngry???"

"ya fo sure"

"imso baked rite now!!!"

"lolz me 2"

Texting comes in handy when I need to get ahold of someone and know they aren't in a position to answer their phone, at work or in class, etc. I can text them and they can get back to me however they would like to. It also came in handy when Alex was born, instead of calling like 20 different people I texted them.

I liked the two-way feature of the Nextel when I had it for work, otherwise the damned cell phone never got used. If someone wants to call me, they can leave a message on my landline so I can screen it. Seeing people on the cell phone constantly, especially while driving, is disgusting to me. It's a waste.

Here's a paraphrase of a cell phone conversation I overheard in Target last weekend:

"Yeah honey, which air freshener do you want? They have Berry, Vanilla Creme, Ocean Mist, Citrus Dawn, Lavender Dew..."

"So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" - primary/general calls

"Brown-eyed Girl" - for the wife

"This New Booty" - for the Sis-in-Law (in jest)

For text messages: Special Ed from Crank Yankers - "I got mail, YAY! I got mail, YAAAAYYY!"

One friend: sound effect of UFO flying from the old TV show "UFO"

Another friend: theme from "the Avengers"

Regular ringer: theme from "UFO"

This way I always know it's my phone ringing and if it's one of the tow friends I speak to the most. Esp. useful in the car (I wear a headset). The cell is useful for the no long distance and "In" minutes.

"Closing Time" by Semisonic for my former supervisor

"Cygnus" by Rush for a guy I work with who is a big Rush fan

"Da Club" by fitty-cent for another friend of mine

"Dreams" by VH for my wife

"Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangoine for another friend

"The Raven" by Alan Parsons for another friend

"Two Step" by DMB for another friend

Most of the time however, its on vibrate so as not to bother others. It only rings in the car and at home.

My little Tracfone has a boatload of ringtones...

Sadly, they all are rather bad. My full-time ring is the one that most closely resembles a normal phone. Ford had a ringtone of a Mustang revving up which tempted me, though.

I usually set mine to vibrate, but I currently have 'Zoo Station' by U2 as my ringtone..

my coworkers have an interesting variety..one has the 'A-Team' theme, another 'Battlestar Galactica', another has the 'Sex in the City' theme...

Texting is handy....we just found out yesterday that we're having a boy and instead of making tons of calls, both my boyfriend and I sent out mass text messages and it was great, we got tons of replies in quickly!

I have "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani as a ringtone but it makes for a great morning wake up alarm. Try sleeping through that!!!!

I've upgraded to a Motorola i530, and while it has fewer ringtones than my old Tracfone, I think they're better. I've got like 26 variations of "ring ring ring."

Currently, everyone's set on "Merengue," a cheery little number that sounds, well...like merengue music.

If Buick needed to speak to me so badly, they would probably ask my opinion on their product line, and it would be different than it is today. But, if Buick had a hotline, in honor of big Buicks, I'd probably make the ringtone Baby Got Back.

Oh man, looking at my comments in this thread about cell phones, and now I have one...

Anyway, mine is just an imitation of an old landline telephone ringing, all I have to do is look at the screen before opening the phone to see who it is.

Current phone and the previous one were set to a regular ring that sounds like something you'd hear in an office, only twice as often.

I can only remember my way back in '02 phone having a "cute" tone, the reveille (sic).

I'm simply not into the RAINGTONE thing, as I'm soured by so many obnoxious songs I've had to sit thru young ones having on theirs so they can bump gums with their little friends.

For my regular ringtone, I have Borat saying "You have call, yes?"

and when my wife calls from either her cell, or our house, you hear multiple sirens (think breaking out of prison) followed by "warning, warning...it's the wife...it's the wife" and more sirens

Quite funny actually. She hates it, but alot of others get a kick out of it

Easy Like Sunday Morning didn't last long, apparently it sent the wrong message  So hers is now Anyone Else but You by the Moldy Peaches

And my text/voicemail tone is not longer "PC Load letter, what the f@#k does that mean?" due to a small incident at my son's daycare. Its now a series of gunshots, because thats so much better.

I have "Again I Say Rejoice" by Israel and New Breed. I have three others ("Linus and Lucy," "Doing It To Death" by James Brown, and "Lately" by Tyrese) but for some reason they don't work too well with my phone.

That's awesome too. Also want.

Actually, my school's e-mail service uses that same thing as a notification when new mail arrives. Pretty funny.

For a while I was using the ringtone from the movie "Crank" as well as the ringtone from the series "24."
