Edge, MKX Shipped Out

Posted Image

Ford Motor Co. began shipping the long-awaited Edge crossover vehicle to dealers on Thursday after ironing out problems at its Oakville, Ontario, manufacturing complex, a company official said.

Joseph R. Hinrichs, vice president of North American manufacturing, said Ford now is happy with the assembly line performance at the plant, which also produces the Edge's Lincoln counterpart, the MKX.

"We're very comfortable with the level of production capability that we have now," he said Thursday.

Let's hope the quality of the production versions are better than the auto show cars.

No kidding, the units on display at the LA Auto Show were totally unimpresive...the Lincoln was a bit better, but a both were a let down.

The Acadia and Outlook on the otherhand totally impressed me...those were the biggest surprises.
