T1G#T WH!P$ TROPHY TRIVIA

In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions

of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification,

photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be

multiple part and others a simple one word answer.

At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners

will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the

over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy.

Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate.

Thank You Sir, it took me a long while to make this one, the

boxes are 59x59 pixles btw  but I think it's the most

elaborate "question" ever. It kind of had to be though in so

that we could have a three point swing.

FOR THOSE WHO OVERLOOKED IT:

Okay guys... the G/F is in the mood so I'm off to bed.

I'm not going to be a complete hardass about the

12:00 midnight deadline, so long as your answers are

posted "tonight" and they're there in the morning

hours tomorrow you'll be good to go.

To keep things consistant please post the answers

in a clear-cut manner. Perhaps like this:

1912 Cadillac: A-13

1931 Pontiac: F-7

1949 Buick: C-4

etc.

Agreed. I found some of the pics used, but then others just baffled me. So when in doubt guess!

I tried to post mine earlier and got the 404 screen when I hit reply. Thought the site was going down again. This time it worked.

It's been almost two hours now and I'm still

not done checking everyones' answers.

Did Fly get eh 404 screen too?

Did we have technical difficulties?

Do we need a recount? :P

So here are the results:

------------------

Yell-Dart: 85/91

93.4% correct

Balthy: 85/91

93.4% correct

OldsGuy: 87/91

95.6% correct

Camino: you put down G13 for 1984 Datsun btui I'm

pretty sure when I came to visit you with my '84 you

ddi not confuse it with a 1957 Plymouth Fury. I just

assumed it was a typo since the correct answer was

D13 it's a very logical assumption.

I made a screw up on the 1961/1962 Buick photo. :duh:

The "SURFBOARD SIDE" (as I call them) 1961/62 Buicks

are all gorgeous to me but they all seem to confuse me

at times. I'm always confusing Skylarks with Specials &

Invictas with Electras those two years. The problem is

all the many trim levels and the fact that I have yet to

see most of them in the flesh. I honesstly have not

seen more than 3 or maybe 4 of these cars motionless

& up close at a show. They're 99% as beautiful to me

as a 1959... it's only 1960 I'm not crazy about.

Here's smoe insight on the pics that stumped most

of you guys... taken out of context some of them

really are a bit confusing, esp. if it is 1:30am.

I'm a bit dissapointed that FlyBrain did not participate but

he's still got a lot of points racked up anyway. As it stands

OldsGuy gets 3 points, YD & Bathazar get 2 each Camino

gets one well earned point. Thanks for participating.

The ones that confused me the most: 59 Buick, 99 Chrysler and 03 Nissan.

The Buick, I still can't find pictures of one with that moulding on the side... where the heck did you get that picture???

The Chrysler, you zoomed the picture in so far that I thought the surround on those headlights was bumper - so I was looking for a car with 4 round headlights, which confused me.

The Nissan, I'm still not sure what Nissan that could possibly be.

Is there any possibility in you posting the correct answers, or telling us which ones we got wrong?

68: Yeah, typo on the Fury/Nissan thing. I was so tired when I typed it all out that I'm surprised I didn't make more typos. I've been fighting the need to get glasses and this contest almost has me raising the white flag. Those pics were too small for me to focus on in many cases. I so wanted to section a few of them out by themselves and blow them up so I could grasp what I was looking at.

Congrats on putting such a tough puzzler together, I can't imagine the work it took.

Sure... I was planning on it.

Ford starters the 1st gen. Infiniti M45 sedan was sold

everywhere else in the world as a Nissan Gloria.

Yes, Sixty8: it would be cool to know which one's we individually got wrong, and what the right answers for those were. I was unsure on the 3 modern ones I crossed-up, but the other 3 I'm wondering on.

And I take back my 'correction': I believe you were right on the '61/62 Buick because it looks like a Special/Skylark by the bumper; I was thinking full-size as usual. Sorry about that.

I've got a busy night right now of finishing the

tree, outside Christmas lights etc...

And I take back my 'correction': I believe you were right on the '61/62 Buick because it looks like a Special/Skylark by the bumper; I was thinking full-size as usual. Sorry about that.

None of us is perfect. I wish I had

half the Automotive knowledge you do.

Just outta curiosity, was the 1971 Cadillac square made from a picture of my old Coupe DeVille? Reason I ask is I noticed they were the same color! The 1970 Cadillac square also resembles Brad's '70 Coupe DeVille that lived with you during your final days at the Tyngsboro house. :)

Actually, no for both. I made the colage on my laptop but the

photos of the '70 & your '71 CdV are all on Marcia's hp tower.

Plus I thought it might make it easier for people if the photos

were from a familiar. I used my personal "right-click" photo

collection on my H.D. as well as google for a few. :D

Sorry about still not correcting Fly's and posting all the details

about everyone else's... I'll get around to it soon. Right now I

am still on anti-biotics and I have a headache from hell.

Then I expect your very next post, after you recuperate of course, to be in this thread and no where else, young man!

Gotcha. Makes sense. At least a piece of my big orange 1915 Brewster-bodied Crane-Simplex roadster made it! :)
