Well Toyota sells about 100k Scions a year.

And Seat sell app. 400k vehicles in Europe. If fuel prices remain steady, there will be a shift back to smaller cars as we have seen with the latest sales figures. VW could have a huge hit on their hands if they chose to bring some interesting small cars to the US. Edited October 4, 2005 by evok

I'm sure plenty of folks think you're an idiot for your taste in cars...which doesn't make them any less ridiculous for being so myopic BTW.

That said, I'd bet if you took 100 people who are actually schooled in automotive design and had them compare this with a Scion, Aztec or Camry, 99% of them would say the Seat is by far the best executed design. I'd consider this in a heartbeat as a sub-$20,000 car.

PeterJ, absolutely agree. This is a very good design and would appeal to many. I love it.

I think Evok is correct. It would do well here if VW could somehow differentiate its reliability from that of the blemished VW brand. A longer warranty perhaps and an empahsis on mechanical simplicity if it exists. Very appealing car.
