And how much is that going to cost? It will probably be near Z06 levels, especially after mark-up.

Hmm... Z06 or Mustang... real tough choice.

My only complaint is that to be a true GT500KR, they should have done a rear seat delete like the old Shelbys. But it looks slick.

It's about the exclusivity. Only die-hard Mustang enthusiasts or people with a lot of money will buy these...I doubt people looking at GT500KR's will be cross-shopping Z06's.

Why not? Both are supposed to be all-out performance cars.

Die-hard fans don't cross-shop.

People with lots of money might as well just get both.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission and 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, upgraded from the standard GT500’s 3.31:1. Gear selection is courtesy of an all-new Ford Racing short-throw shifter making its debut on the KR. Topped with a white ball, the new shifter is 25 percent shorter than the unit on the GT500 providing for crisper, sharper shifts.

isn't the TR6060 going in the new vette? can't remember where i saw ....oh... it's going into the viper right?

it'll be a beast for sure. but will it beat a Z06 around the german track.... who knows, the super charged torque curve is prolly very nice looking.

They're two completely different vehicles appealing to two completely different types of people. Both have long, storied histories and both have their legions of loyal fans. With only 1000 being made, die-hard collectors will be the only ones that will get their hands on the KR...the dealer markups will make sure of that.

Awwww... now that's a beautiful Mustang. Certainly it won't take long to sell out those 1000 to some lucky people.

that is true .. and it is a little sad that the new crop of Shelby's are more for collectors than enthusiasts...

but yes - the Corvette will have it beat - without a question - especially if there are curves involved .. but at this level of "exclusivity" much more than simple power and performance is at stake ... if only Power mattered, no one would buy ANY Aston Martins ... you can buy a BMW with better power ... but there is something about owning a special limited edition Mustang that draws people to the showroom.
