'08 Escape Hybrid - 41 MPG under old methods

6 posts in this topic

Yep, under old EPA testing procedures, the 2008 Escape Hybrid SUV would have gotten a very impressive 41 MPG in the city. This is even better than the lighter Camry Hybrid sedan (40 MPG city), and it absolutely destroys the VUE Green Line's 27 MPG. The old Escape Hybrid got 36/31 MPG.

I wonder what the Fusion Hybrid will do!

I'm glad the EPA numbers are becoming more accurate... especially for hybrids.

Maybe now we can talk about how 34 MPG city is EXCELLENT for a small SUV instead of talking (FUDing?) about how it isn't 41MPG.

Yep. All car numbers will shift, so it's all relative.

I could have sworn the updated EPA tests were going to begin with 2007 models.
