The Rabbit & Astra are not bad for a little POS Econo-hatches.

Of course I'd get the Astra in a hearbeat, my experiences w/

German made Astras & Opels have been great.

The Renault is just GROSS!

I like the current wanna-be bubbletop profiles that GM is turning

out, its a step in the right direction. The Cobalt & Astra both

have that nice arch from A-to-C pillars.

Congrats to GM for making the Astra over 1000lbs. LIGHTER

than the GTi & Renault. That's crazy. :)

And yes of course I think that's too much HP for FWD.

(Ahem, Sly, I think the "thousand pounds!" he was referring to was the price. The souped-up Astra is that much less expensive than either the Renault or VW.)

Yes while it is two much power I think that top gear was lying! They did the same thing with a Vette one time. They act like they are slower than they really are and they act like they can't stay on the track. Watch the cars driven by some one else and how they are not as out of control. Drive the VW around a curse with the peddle to the floor and it will scream off the track also.

1000 English Pounds is about 2000 bucks give or take a few. But I prefer to say Quid when I am there.

Does the VXR have a limited-slip? Anyway it's the best looking hatch I've ever come across.
