Approximate date of conception: "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts

Cool.

On my birthdate: "Down Under" by Men at Work

Could be worse. (Haven't heard this song before. Apparently, the easiest way to hear most of a song online is to find the music video or concert performance at YouTube.)

I don't even want to bother with HS and College graduation because I know those songs are gonna suck. ...Feh, let's take a look.

HS Graduation: "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink

Sure enough...

College Graduation: "Burn" by Usher

Yawn... Why does popular music suck so much?

The reason some feel music is not what it once was is because record companies control the artists, and do not allow them to produce music like the once did. Too much of it is packaged in a formula that is about sales. It is not about the artist or the art. You have to find those people on YouTube or other places. Artists feel blocked in with record deals. The attorneys have too much say so too.

It was about the artists and the unique sounds.
