TAURUS X review

5 posts in this topic

Driving the Taurus X was actually a more pleasant experience than the Saturn Outlook we tried recently. It's amazing what a difference eight hundred pounds makes in a vehicle. While the Taurus is by no means nimble at 4,200 pounds, it certainly didn't have any of the ponderous feel of the Outlook.

Pretty good review...although the brake pedal thing isn't very confidence inspiring.

The new front end actually fits the X, unlike with the sedan.

Some parts of the car still scream cheap, but the Taurus X does nearly everything an Outlook can do, at a slightly lower price. Additional incentives would be the deciding factor for me.

outlook has more leg room in the 3rd row and is wide enough to swallow plywood.

overall a bit nicer and more commodious. defintely more stylish.

the freestyle really did not do well, and it will be interesting to see if it was because of the engine, the name, fruity color pallette or what.

the taurus x hits a sweet spot from the standpoint that it is a very garageable 3 row. the acadia, etc. is less garageable and such.

the taurus x cargo well behind the third row is actually pretty usable. its lower and cradles grocery bags well.

overall the acadia has more volume, however.

going to a monochrome color scheme helps this vehicle tremendously.

you gotta understand, there are lots of those fickle females (redundant, i know) that liked weakly butch vehicles like the forester and cr-V that simply wanted a larger version of it, lame styling and all. for someone who is trying to move up from a forester, and is spooked by the tribeca, than the taurus x is a good choice.

i wonder how this comparo will turn out now.
