Lincoln MKS exposed

I like it except for the tail lights. This is basically the Lincoln Taurus, right?

I don't see that. Besides, isn't this one RWD? When is this due out, 2009, no?

This one rides on Ford's FWD D3 platform. The RWD showcar Lincoln displayed was the MKR.

I'm glad to see it kept close to the concept, it looks good.

From what I understand, same platform, different almost everything else.

I agree about the taillights though, to an extent. They could have been better (read: less like the Hyundai XG350), but they're not a deal-breaker.

Can't wait to see a production model instead of a movie prop.

Oh! This is the sorta new Continental so to speak? Large FWD car? Large RWD Town Car replacement comes when?! That's in dire need of an update! :AH-HA_wink:

All i can think of is...

Mitsubishi Diamante.

First the Malibu copies it, now this. Mitsu is more influential than we think.

The taillamps look just like those on the last gen Hyundai XG350, and the current Kia Amati. Yuck! :yuck: :yuck:

Interesting...the taillights vaguely remind me of the Quattroporte. I'm glad it has it's own unique greenhouse and didn't reuse the Taurus/Sable/Five Hundred/Montego roofline...

Not at all. Just the same chassis. No shared sheet metal or anything.

imagine this. i've owned TWO diamantes and am on my third *taurus* (500) and now i have to look at this. I wanted to get pumped about the MKs but the deja vu and underwhelming mating together in these photos will drive me to drive a toyota product i fear.

i fear. really.

Needs some cladding and inverted turn signals, then you can have everything you've owned.

A MKZ with a split in the grill and a Lexus greenhouse. How exciting.

Hmm, those taillights say anything but Lincoln. Otherwise, it's too tough to comment on its looks based on these pics.

Not bad-looking. Lincoln needs this fresh product. I also think the taillights look a little like the Quattroporte's.

Bad FWD proportions when it should be a RWD car, nasty taillamps (kind of like the old XG350+Old Camry), the rest looks great to me.

ugh... there's going to be another Batman movie?

Yes, it's called "The Dark Knight" and like "Batman Begins" it has NOTHING to do with the comical travesties that pre-date it.

I think it is kinda funny though that everyone compared the face of the MKR to the Joker and now we find out that the MKS is in the movie staring Heath Ledger (sp?) as the Joker.

I'm looking forward to 'The Dark Night'...I generally don't care for superhero/comic book based movies, but really liked 'Batman Begins'.
