check out the outfit...S-LUTTTTT

i love the double standard in today's society. Women blatantly dress like hos but then something like this happens and they are all 'I'm a victim / i deserve respect". I don't agree with her being asked off the plane, but the fact that she's 'surprised' about this is so fricking hilarious. Women get away with murder these days in terms of what they can wear. I certainly don't mind if they are visually asking me to blatantly look down their shirt or look up their skirt, it's just that no $h! people are going to think of you as nothing but a ho if this is the way you dress for a doctor's appt. Who the hell flies a plane for a doctor's appt anyways? Unless the doctor needs an appointment with you, the escort. Or maybe her doctor was a plastic surgeon and was convincing her she needed to get a much bigger boob job.

How dumb is this....dress like ho all the time people will think you're a ho and a joke.

With all of the issues the airline business has, this is the problem that would keep someone off a plane. Hell, the fewer clothes someone has on, the better you can see if they are hiding something. Hell, let them fly naked. At least everything will be exposed. Sheesh!

1. She looks like Michael Jackson but her outfit was not that bad...

2. That airline needs to pay more attention to the imprtant stuff instead of PMS-ing over a mini-skirt.

3. That clip of the air-show disaster in Poland was way more interesting/relevat.

I'm guessing some cranky old woman on the flight complained about it and the flight attendant had to talk to her to save face. If it was really that bad they would have thrown her off.

I've been in situations before where I didn't see anything wrong going on and yet I still received complaints and had to talk to the offending party just to keep the peace. When I was a park ranger there was an asshole who was always at the park every day (he didn't work there) who would call me up and tell me to yell at people for the dumbest stuff. The only thing that stopped me from telling him to stick his complaints where the sun don't shine was the fact he was friends with my boss. I'm guessing there's more to this story than what we're hearing.

yeah, prob some cranky old beeoch who never found the button in her entire life. LOL

Reg, there is so much wrong with your original post that I don't even have the time to type it all in!!!!!!!! Society's treatment of how women dress has absolutely NOTHING to do with an airlines being WRONG and making a BAD judgement call.

Mental note to self: blast Reg's post when I have the time. :angry2:

Watching the video, I don't see anything wrong with her outfit.. She just looks like a typical So Cal girl out at the mall shopping. The Southwest guy that gave her a hard time must have been a prudish bible thumper or something.

I got turned away at the front door of the Hard Rock Cafe in Phoneix because I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt. I can sort of sympathize. I wasn't being ostentatious - it was just 115 degrees out - at night - and I just needed to use their phone (I lent my parents my cell phone). Southwest could have handled that better. They should have taken her into the jetway (off the plane where everone can hear), and maybe offered her a blanket to cover herself with on the flight, and make like they're giving it to her because they don't want her to catch a cold. Given that the A/C is usually cranked on airplanes anyway, that wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

so much wrong?

I like the way she looked and the way she was dressed should not warrant getting kicked off the plane

however.

she was dressed slutty / skanky, which seems to be common these days. Why women get a dumb look on their face and wonder why people of both genders look down on this sort of thing and have no respect for people who constantly dress like this all the time, is beyond me. There is a whole generation of women out there these days that has no clue on how to dress in a classy fashion and still have it be attractive.

what she was wearing was fine for the bar. she did not deserve to get kicked off the plane. but for her to question why she was criticized for her apparel and for her to question why anyone would think of her as dressed skanky, well, that takes the damn cake.

i wonder if women GET that when they dress like this constantly, men and women only think of you as a sex object, with no brain. They also should not complain if men (or women) are looking down their shirt and up their dress / skirt all day.

Like I said, I don't mind, its nice to look at when the good looking women dress like this. But a lot of your human cred is blown away when you continuously put this much on display.

If this keeps up, me and blu and the guys are gonna start teabagging it all day. We'll see if you like one of the 'hairy boys' hanging out below my pant leg all the time.

Dressing like barskank all the time might get you kudos from your 20-something single female peers, but everyone else is disrespecting you continuously in the process. The female gender may have been better off with R-E-S-P-E-C-T bit before the gals went nuts on the lib kick in the wonder years. The constant tacky dress / Paris Hilton wannabe culture is in the process if ruining all progress that was made by women since the late 60's.

Women are getting a totally skewed idea of what it means to be "empowered", largely due to the current crop of females dominating the entertainment industry. They're driving the point home that empowerment comes from their sexuality and their ability to flaunt it and turn men into Jello. Listen to "Fergielicious", "My Humps", or "Bootylicious" to see my point(as an aside, Fergie's nowhere near as hot as she says she is in her songs. In fact, she's just plain fugly). As a result, women see wearing revealing clothing as a means of elevating themselves above men. However, they're in for a surprise if they can't find a rich guy to seduce into blowing all their money on them; if they actually have to enter the real world and get a job they'll find out that their primary means of advancing in life just isn't going to cut it. Instead, it will hold them back.

to some degree there is a lot of female advancement in the workplace based upon how they look and having a type a personality. work in cubeland, and you see often women are promoted because they manage to dress 'work slutty' and are personable. In many cases they are quite capable for their jobs. But what I have seen is many really young women are being promoted into positions in their 20's and 30's, over people, men and women, who are older, more qualified, and dress professionally. The more experienced that get passed up may not be as flirtatious or outgoing as the thin leggy blonde who gets the big job in her late twenties.

But coworkers can see through crap and determine for themselves who is the real deal and who got their promotions based on skanky looks and low cut tops.

we have become a society where image matters, but now it matters far too much. Being fashion conscious rules over competence these days in cubeland. Show me a company where a pleasing looking, but fat, woman has a high level position. No, no, they banish them to the admin desks in the corner, doing technical or grunt work, while the 22 year old grads from private colleges get real estate degrees and are promoted by their commerical real estate bosses as 'being able to be one of our top agents within six years'. why? you can't tell me that being a model thin 5'-9" blonde doesn't have at least half to do with it. Let me dig up the article in our local paper about this. I'm like, this is bull$h!, tell me there isn't some guy in that office who has been there for 15 years busting his butt and is more capable then an immature chick out of college.

Yes, Fergie is a big mutt. Big time ugly, but hey anyone can look great with hollywood makeup artists doing them up.

Regarding your last sentence, z28, i know exactly of someone you mention, an excoworker who is late 20's, she works but totally just wants to find a man with money and marry him and quit working. she truly feels because of how good looks that entitles her to find a wealthy man who will treat her like a princess. Just like dad. She says she won't even live with the man first. 'it's not needed'. she doesn't even care too much what the guy looks like, or his age, or if they have chemistry or are compatible. it's a sense of entitlement that being hot includes. she feels being a woman and being good looking means she should be kept. in the meantime, she is able to get positions in her field that others won't get, because of her looks.

Reg, I actually loved your responses, and tip my hat to you!!! Saved me a TON of typing. LOL We are actually more on the same page than I thought. (And probably more than you expected, too! :AH-HA_wink: )

One of my biggest beefs about girls who dress a certain way - totally hypothetical situation:

chick dresses like that, gets drunk at a party and passes out , wakes up to find she's been sexually assaulted. Now, in a perfect world, she SHOULD be able to dress however she likes, she SHOULD be able to get totally drunk at a party, but to be surprised by the result? Not too bright. To me, its as stupid as falling asleep on the train tracks.

My sense of right and wrong was absolutely triggered by this situation. I personally find socks and sandals offensive. Should someone be kicked off the plane because of it? Totally unacceptable. Truth told, when I heard the story without seeing the outfit, I thought here we go, totally revealing outfit, but her outfit wasn't that bad. Typical college student, typical outift, as someone pointed out, seen in any mall across the country.

It is so interesting to see guys' opinions on how girls dress. Wouldn't you think the girls today think they are dressing in order to attract boys? And here you guys are not walking around in a state of constant arousal? That would probably shock most of the chicks out there.

LMAO.

like I said, i guess if they want that kind of attention, fine. And yes, imagine the girl who passes out and found she got abused. No, that should never happen. However, the image game can have consequences. Sometimes the wrong message is sent and unfortunately gets a very wrong or undesirable response.

it's just constant bombardment, and it just gets old. Seriously. the constant quiet begging for attention because of the way some women dress just gets tiresome, in spite of how attractive they can be. I find it so refreshing and stimulating when a woman simply smiles a brilliant smile or says something intelligently funny, or simply excels at work because she is capable and easy to work with/for. Or, if she can talk in complete sentences, or engage in intelligent conversation about current events instead of her f@#king imported handbag. I don't want to have to keep hearing $h! like 'oh, i just had ANOTHER date over lunch, i had three dates this week' crap.

So why do so many younger women affectionately call each other 'bitches' or 'pornstar' and 'hoes'? That's just tiring, too.

ah, i may come off as prude, but truth is, I am extremely un-prude for my age and such, and especially knowing one day I'll have a teen daughter too. I just get worn out with the constant in your face show everything sort of mindset and display out there. Can we just get a break from that and go subtle and classy for awhile? Like I said, if we don't, then I consider it fair game to start teabagging it all over the place.

It's still ok if you girls want to make out with each other when you drink too much in the bar, though. There's still not enough of that. LMAO
