A quick BMW

12 posts in this topic

Plum, man, where you been??

^ is a nice improvement over the crazed 'surfacing' the current crop suffers with- I like the emphasis on the wheels. S'gonna have the dashboard of one of the GM 'dustbuster' vans to get the driver's head far enough back to clear the roof. Add a sunroof and the driver will have to be in the back seat.

I agree - excellent sketch, but the roofline slope seems a bit unrealistic.

Amazing work as usual!

Had you not titled the thread "A quick BMW" and referred to the sketch as a "5 series," then I'd say you drew a sweet Camaro concept inspired sedan!

:scratchchin:

Very long for a 5er. I kinda see where you were going with the taillights....kind of reminiscent of an inverted e34. I've also noted the slight shark nose...Other than those details, and the hoffmeister kink of course, it really doesn't say BMW too much to me...I'd love to see some 3/4 shots.

Still, nice sketch nonetheles...

Nice. Needs a glass divider bar on the rear door.

I disagree with your disagree, the CLS 4dr coupe has a curve to the front window, where this one is almost a straight up triangle.

It's just a sketch, nobody's cutting steel with this to make molds...it's just a sketch showing an exaggerated emotional thought.

The highest point in the roofline should be further forward; it should spend less time going up than it spends going down toward the boot. Pretty much like a fastback. That should pretty much go for any sedan that isn't huge, the alternative just totally kills passenger room, when if you're going to sacrifice passenger room it should be for a longer hood and lower swept roof. A 5er does need a trunk too. Yeah it's just a sketch but that's what I think about the sketch. I mean it's pretty cool otherwise.
