but the Japanese wont be annoying us for long imagine what recalling almost 100,000 OF YOUR IMAGE VEHICLE does to your image - the people who own them are going to be angry; you think their friends are gonig to buy that crap - hell no the backlash of anti-trust and the economy will get into the minds of america soon, again not tomorrow, not soon - and Hundah and friends will feel it just wait; 30 years they will have a slump - 30 years after that they will be back some of us will be dead anyway by then so whatever Edited by swallowit

uh no - the prius is toyota's image - entirely; the reason why the siera club loves them; a recall on THAT is a HUGE hit to them ( where recalling 100k tacumas isnt so bad )

ok, 75k is close enough to 100k

all i am trying to say is that toyota wasnt known for this 3 years ago, now their most popular vehicle is a problem ridden pinto and its going to cost them DEARLY

First off, if the Prius is a problem ridden Pinto, then my Grand Am must be... um... What's worse than a Pinto? By a large margain? Hmm... The Prius isn't what it's cracked up to be. That's a no brainer, but one recall and it's suddenly the next Pinto? Come on, now...

Second, Toyota's reputation and crap like that will basically cause this to be mostly ignored. Thanks to the media, their PR, and the under educated sheeple, of course. Blind, biased bastards, anyways... But yeah, it'll get coverage, but not nearly enough for anything you said to happen.

I watched a segment yesterday about "small cars" on like MSNBC or CNN, and it mainly featured the Solstace! They were commenting on how the Solstice was really nice, and didn't feel cheap like small cars of the past. The one lady on there commented how small cars came from Pintos, and Honda Civics whose frames rusted out, to premium small cars like the Mini Cooper. Then they talked about how Hybrids weren't really worth the price. Then at the very end of the bit, they quickly said "Just today it was anounced that Toyota has recalled 75K Priuses".

The idiots driving the Prius will be very forgiving about this I'm sure, they love to dry hump their Toyotas. Back when they we're driving a 1978 Malibu they had a radio knob break adn just flipped out and decided enough was enough, no more GM cars for them... now they're so biased after reading Consumer reports their Prius could develop an exploding dashboard and they'd still gove toyota the benefit of the doubt.

This thread is hilarious! I haven't heard "slob" be thrown around as an epithet in the longest time. Whistler's comment, while head scratching because I didn't notice any grammatical errors, makes me lose it again and again. Thanks for the laugh.

BV: Be careful what you wish for, this place could be very different without several of our "pests." And remember that everyone has a different ida of who is annoying and brings nothing to the site, so who knows, if that happened we could have a lot of people banned, yourself included.
