In the new Opel Insignia, this defining characteristic is realized by sophisticated powertrain technology, active safety and the interface between driver and car. The Insignia’s level of comfort and environmental friendliness is unrivaled even among considerably more expensive competitors,” says Alain Visser, Chief Marketing Officer, General Motors Europe. When it comes to the new car’s design, Visser says, “A closer look at our groundbreaking GTC concept car gives a good idea of how exciting Opel’s new design language will be.” source: http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/11/offic...ccessor-to.html Edited November 29, 2007 by NINETY EIGHT REGENCY

Drew Dowdell 6,487 Posted November 30, 2007 I have to say... this is kinda a dumb move. Vectra has name recognition in Europe. Talking to the Germans over there, they would say that the old ones weren't very good, but now the Vectra and all the Opels are very desireable. It's recognized to be a turn around for Opel. It's being done because Vauxhall, doesn't like the Vectra name. The Brits really annoy me anyway! Where is their car industry?
