The New Saturn

22 posts in this topic

What would you guys think of this idea as the newest Saturn to hit America? It's primarily Opel and Vauxhall based, and I could definitely see it being implemented in the near future.

Very Nice! I hope the Zafira ends up a Chev though... they sure would be alienating people like to wheel and deal.

so you're expecting the Outlook to get dropped when/if Saturn gets the Zafira? Could happen...

Of course the Corsa Saturn will get will look different from shown, since it will be the next gen.

I think the rear bumper cutline could be 'chopped out of the Flextreme - I highly doubt the real thing (if it were produced, which I kinda doubt) would actually poop those little scooter things (name escapes me right now).

You've got a 5 door pic under the 3 door title.

:)

The way the news has talked, there has been one article saying Saturn will get it, and multiple saying Chevy will get it, as well as talk about producing Opels here & shipping them to Europe. I would say that the Chevy model is likely, but if they do the Opels, it would be very easy to also slap a different badge on the Opel versions & give them to Saturn (assuming that they differentiate the Chevy from the Opel/Saturn). That's just my guess, though.

Yeah, the Corsa would be NG, but this will do for now. :AH-HA_wink:

I just like the cutline as a style line, not for a scooter pooper haha.

And fixed. Thanks!

I think the Zafira fits the Satrun lineup so much better than the Outlook. Small and European in style is what Saturn should be doing with their entire lineup. The Outlook just seems out of place.

I agree so much with that, Dsuupr. Let the Outlook go out and replace it (price-wise) with the Chevy crossover.

I prefer the "small" Saturn without the Outlook with the largest car being the Aura/ Insignia.

What about the powertrains NOS in terms of output?

Each car will have 50-1400 HP. :P

I'll edit later when I'm less busy.

I think the Flexstream is redundent in this lineup..... all models should be available as Green-Line

Image sells. Seeing a hybrid-only car might get people prompted to not only look at Saturn, but to think of them as more MPG-conscious and green. I'm putting the Prius at blame for some people thinking that Toyota is the King of Green.

Think of the Flextreme as Saturn's halo hybrid vehicle.

1400 HP? That is 40 Tata Nanos. Good gosh in a Saturn. Wow. In a FWD Saturn talk about burning rubber.

ok...it's not a bad idea.

Once I'm CEO of GM, Saturn would be a special "green" brand with performance hybrid and economy hybrid versions of each car. There would only be Green-Line and Red-Line models. None would be standard ICE propelled.

Updated with some engine choices. Anybody want to help with the Corsa/Astra Green Line and Sky/Aura/Vue Diesels?

assuming that Opel makes a car that looks like that... i can say for the first time in my life i am absolutely... thoroughly jealous of Europe

Put the Venturi Motors 2.9L Diesel V-6.

My vote is yes for all of the above, assuming they all are available with optional navigation. As an upmarket brand, there is no reason every Saturn model should be without navigation options.

I vote for them all. I especially love the Corsa and the Zafira. The next gen Aura you have there is GORGEOUS! I noticed the admission of the Outlook, I think thats a good choice as well.

Well I'm glad this is well received. I really didn't do too much work to anything other than badge swaps, but it's nice to see you all liking the whole concept of it! :)
