  1. 1. What do you think of the proposed sketched modifications for the very last Monte Carlo?

    • Yes, they would have improved the car (2006-2007)
    • No, I liked it as it was for those MYs (2006-2007)
    • I'll pick my battles - describe which you would have implemented
    • Other - describe

I came real, real close to signing on the dotted line for a 2007 Monte Carlo. (Story will be posted elsewhere). There were few to pick from as they are dwindling in supply and it required that I traveled a bit...ehm...ehm...to look at a couple equipped in a manner I would be comfortable with.

IMO, the Monte Carlo could have been much better than it was and fetched more sales than it did if some of the quirky styling cues had gone away. The front end freshening for 2006-2007 was very good. At first I was skeptical but, after seeing a few on the road and in front 1/4 view, it was indeed a big improvement over the sideways Coke bottles. My main issue with the quirks are the locations/extent of the side sculpting, the Coke bottle pinching of the taillamps and the unnecessary rear hood hump which ultimately got masked over with a spoiler.

Tracing over a few brochures I have kept, here are some fixes I proposed post-mortem. Gee, I like to do this, don't I? Plastic surgery might have been a good career for me...LOL. At any rate, take a look at the sketches and vote and/or comment. Thanks.

Yo Bob, where you at? It's been a while.

The biggest thing with that car was the interior. Awkward to get in and out of, and the dashboard was laid out in a counter-intuitive fashion.

Personally an interior refresh would have made more sense to me.

But a restyle wouldn't have hurt either.
