Olds minted the blocks, and that was about it there. No Caprice in it, and BTW, only 7-10% Nova. Unique shell, unique chassis, nice appointments. I wouldn't mind a black/silver Elegante on the real wires.

One of the most beautiful automobile profiles ever.

Thank you sir... hope you're going to stay as a permanent

addition to this forum. I too take a short term leave of

absence for a short while when personal troubles arise, as

I did recently with the death of a relative and job change

but it's always fun to see the threads you cook up.

GM is my first true Automotive love, even when I was just

a kid living in then communist Slovakia & my dad was

sending packages to me and my mom I'd be thrilled to get

a HW car of some sort... and at least half the time they

were GM classics like the V16 Cadillac that as a kid I just

thought was a very cool classic.

See that's one of those weird things... I think the '75-'79 Seville is more bland

than a bag of stale white bread. I would never go out of my way to buy one

even if it was the particular one that D-Fan, JessiC & Tall Paul and I saw at the

museum in Alabama which happened to be the last Cadillac (& car obviously)

that Elvis ever purchased prior to his death.

I just do not see much value in these Sevilles, the one thing they have over

the way cooler '80-'85 Bustlebacks is that they are still RWD. I know a few on

this forum think the retro-style Bustlebacks are ugly or worse but I absolutely

LOVE them, I love the 1930s feel their lines have, esp. in profile and the very

classy details that make them probably the most unique styled Cadillac made

in my lifetime. I'll own a Bustleback someday, & I just might go all out &

convert it to RWD, I've got about three different ideas as to how.

This is a good one for interesting reactions, an official Mary Kay '08 CTS. Posted it in another thread before, but perfect here...as Mary Kay is legendary for their Cadillac use, and in the trademark pink that is occasionally refreshed.

Builds on the line of the many current DTS's out and about, a loaded STS V8 I saw once, and a random few SRX's. All then coming to a used GM lot near you before long, thoroughly repainted basic white.

That Cadillac museum in Deuchland blows my mind. Insane!

Keep posting, you've got some good stuff.

That barn in front of a frozen lake, with the '53? Cadillac in

front of it is just... spooky. Kind of lonely & sad.

The post of the 1980 Sedan Deville that tried to eat a

guardrail endcap in one piece is disturbing... Band the SAAB

BulL&#036;h&#33; even MORE disturbing. :gross:

A yellow/white/white 1961 Cadillac in a two door hardtop, just

like the one Danny DeVito drives (and crashes) in "Tin Men"

is my ALL TIME FAVORITE post-war Caddy.

This is my favorite photo of all time of the almost as cool 1962

ragtop equivalent. (xcept it has a yellow interior)

It's not often that my opinion is the polar opposite of yours, but this is one of those times.

The RWD Seville always gave me a sophisticated vibe and was the most handsome of the Caddys of that era IMO.

The Bustlebacks , on the other hand, always looked disgusting to me.

Different strokes, I guess.

The Bustleback was, in an era of boxy profiles, a swooping, 1930s-esque rebel.

I agree with the agree to disagree... just my $0.02

In any case, that 1969 Cadillac Caballero Balthazar posted has to be one of the

coolest wagons of ALL time!

In the USA the car would probably be crushed and forgotten.

There in Cuba it has prob. logged 780,000 miles on its

original motor. and the wear/dents/body damage is the result

of 51 years of daily use, not some abusive jerk.

I think the story of the classics in Cuba is an amazing one.

A fellow www.Buick-59.com member sent me a fantastic

DVD about the car culture in Cuba. I was hoping it would

have a pre-boat-conversion photo of that famous '59 Buick

Invicta... green flattop that predated the 1951 Chevy truck

and the 1940s Mercury airport limo.
