ugh.. I must be tired

Recommended Posts

Work has been bad lately. We were bought out and we're in the process of merging the two networks. Strangely, even though this was a straight up purchase and advertised as such, it's really turning into a merger of equals. Most of my old company's stuff is being retained as it's more efficient and more advanced than the stuff our new mothership has. Most of the workforce is being retained as well. During all of this, I'm doing some fairly big renovations on one of my apartment buildings. Chest pains from stress are now a common occurrence. Yesterday, I was sent a link to failblog.com and I was laughing so hard for so long that my co-workers were getting worried. I felt completely loopy.

anyway, I just surfed over to Ebay to see if any new Toronados or Eldorados have been listed....except I typed "www.ebody.com"

I can't wait for vacation.....

Dude, I HEAR ya.

Every day (m-f) I do 4.5 - 5 hours at UPS, then another 6.5 - 7.0 at my new job.

I've shown up 15 min. latee to UPS three days in a row this week.

This am I had a talk with the two bosses, it went on for like 7 min

but thje synopsys is:

boss(es): why so late?

me: I'm tired

boss(es): set your alarm earlier then

me: did that, still tired & body is unwilling to wake up...

boss(es): you've got to show up exactly on time, to the minute

me: I'm tired, can I go WORK now? End of lecture please?

UPS doesn't screw around.

Hope you guys get some rest, I'm back to working 40 hour weeks.

Oldsmoboi, saw a sweet late 60's Toronado on the way home from work tonight.

Work has been picking up here lately at the startup...have a major release to a major bank in Europe in about 6 weeks, so there will be some OT coming up...but it's more mental exhaustion than physical... hours in front of a 24 inch computer screen in a comfy chair, fueled by caffiene...

Haven't been sleeping well either this week... jet lagged from the weekend in Florida, and worn out from it..(I can't party at 38 the way I did at 20 or so)..

Understandable here too. I'm up at 5 (okay...anywhere from 5 to 45 mins later) leave for work at 7 and start officially at 7:30. Then that day goes on until 5 or 5:30. LONG day. I'm re-energized by the time I get home, but only have a few usable hours, so my weekdays are just a blur.

I hope stress is the ONLY cause of the chest pains....

And, I hear ya.... Hope you get to do vacation, soon.

That sounds kind of like my schedule...I'm usually up by 5-5:30, at the office between 7-8, out between 4:30-5:30. My commute is about 25 min each way. Lunch is catered free at the office, so I usually eat in (the food is usually excellent). Get home, feed the dogs, feed myself, take a dip in the pool, watch a movie or surf the web, go to bed by 10ish..

I'm probably going to take a week vacation in Sept around Labor Day...my 4 days in Florida went way too fast. Thinking of going back to Colorado, sync up w/ friends, or go up to Portland, visit friends there for a few days, then up to Vancouver and Victoria Island...could be interesting. Mountains, greenery and water would be a nice change from the desert..

At 29 yo I now drink more caffene in one week

than I did in an average YEAR prior to my 27th

birthday. I get nasty chest pains & rapid heart

rate form too much caffene, so this is bad.

At the start of summer I worked 3 jobs. My full time job, my deliver job, which I cut down to 1 day, and my side job doing web work for the person I interned with. I make sure to have Saturdays off so I have some relaxing time, or at least time to do things I want (When it's not friggin' raining).

happily, I'm quitting my dilvery job after this weekend.

I've given myself an ulcer from too much coffee, so watch out.

I sat in my cubicle and stared at my phone for 45 minutes. Then I grabbed my cell, called the switchboard and asked to be transferred to myself just to make sure everything was working properly. I then admired the recently tricked out Tundra that has replaced the Astro as our security vehicle.

Its not even a new Tundra, its a first generation extended cab. It showed up about a month ago, unmarked. This week they finally got the big, orange light bar put on top (which I never saw used on the Astro) and big ass "SECURITY" graphics all over the side. Considering it spends 75% of the day parked, and the other 25% patrolling the parking lot, occasionally jump starting cars for employees, I would have thought they would go cheap and get something like an old Escort wagon.

Yeah, for that purpose a PT Cruiser or a Vibe would make more sense.
