New Redeemer Render

13 posts in this topic

I came across a really cool photo of an open road in the desert and thought it would make a killer backdrop for my car, so I did a render last night for my computer's new wallpaper. Took some work with Photoshop to make edit the scene so the car had space to fit on it, and of course making a 3D car not look out of place on a 2D background is always a fun challenger, but I think it worked out.

What do you guys think?

I wish I had some sort of deep, meaningful title for it, but I suck at coming up with titles.

The colors are so intense... it's a nice way to make it

pop out but I think you should take it back a notch...

Also, do a profile like the G8-2dr ht where we can see

all four windows down.

I see what you mean about the intense colors, although I like the look of HDR, it makes everything so much more rich and intense/surreal.

I'll do a windows down render just for you :AH-HA_wink:

As far as the car goes, all I see is a refreshed Chrysler 300 with a panoramic windshield... sorry, it's decent, but not really exciting IMO.

I'm curious to know where the 300 resemblence is?

On a side note, I like Chrysler's new photos.

The grill is reminiscent of a Saturn, I agree :P

The lights, I drew them up after much sketching thing they were fairly original in shape...only to realize after I had finished the car that they kind of resemble the Impreza hatchback! Go Figure. So much for being an original idea. v_v

The idea behind it was to be a no compromise brand that combined RWD performance with AWD as an inexpensive option, that a midsize car didn't have to be a boring FWD appliance.

That being said it's a WIP...it's the first 3D car I've ever done and the most complex 3D project I've ever undertaken. If I get the time I would like to improve it and do another.

Now see that boat at a dry dock, that's a great example of hihg-intensity

hue-saturation done well.... looks awesome. The original render is very

1990s video game-ish.

Well that s how the source picture came. I tried to match the lighting on the car to it. Although I'm sure some fun with PhotoShop would yield new results.

No more renders for now though :( I haven't reinstalled Maya yet since I formatted my HD.
