2011 Ford Fiesta officially on Ford's website

10 posts in this topic

WEBSITE: http://www.fordvehicles.com/2011fiesta

Official:

1.6l TiVCT engine

Powershift dual clutch tramission

3 leather options

up to 7 airbags (the usual 6 plus knee)

standard ESC

coming early 2010

Other info:

transmisison will have 6 speeds

engine is the same as the one in EU - all aluminum DOHC, 16V engine. No RoCam for US

launch is VERY early 2010 - production might start in very late 2009

Looks - look at the detroit Verve concept - 90% identical (the usual concept to production: frames around windows etc)

Comparative fuel economy analysis (comparing Fe in Australian tests) shows that the Fiesta will be more efficient than the Fit, Versa, or Aveo, and exactly on par with the Yaris.

Very, very nice. This is one of the vehicles I'm looking forward to most. I saw the Verve sedan concept today at LAIAS, and it was hot. There were huge crowds gathered around it.

The Fiesta is a nice looking small car. Glad the US is getting it!

That interior looks better than many cars costing twice as much.

Can't wait to see it...if I were to buy a small car this would be it.

Yeah, I'm normally not a fan of subcompacts...but this seems very well designed, very well equipped.

People who buy small cars don't want something that screams cheap. At least Ford gets it. This thing will do great for them.
