WHat is going on here?

DXZ845MC = 80 Color Variable Display < DXZ745MP = 728 Color Variable Display.

Haha, my DXZ845MC didn't have the right shade to match the Cobalt's backlighting (white). I didn't feel like going out and buying an all-new stereo since I have been satisfied with my Clarion. Instead, I searched for about a month for a DXZ745MP on Ebay until I finally came across one and purchased it. Now, I will still have my awesome Clarion and have the backlighting match since I'm a perfectionist bitch.

I could install both if I wanted to. Muahaha. :P

Yes...it should really rock, Cory. And please don't take my earlier sarcasm wrong...I am really happy you've got the 'balt.

I'd like to see the stereo install pics when you get it done...

Seriously, though...when you get to where you've got a little bit of scratch, vipes, what are you going to buy? Another Jetta? A GTO? New Camaro? Miata?

I'm interested in what your thinking...

It depends on how soon I get there and how much I have to work with. If I can realistically afford it, a Genesis will be on my list. Otherwise, I'm most likely reverting back to another MK3.

Actually the MK3 Jetta is just an amazing car, light, drives well, neutral for a front wheel drive car, decent highway car.

Been thinking I'd like to find a decent MK3 myself. Guy across the street from me has a red one like your old one, although it is a TDI.

Myself, I'm not much for the Genesis sedan...but your thinking coupe, right?

RWD: Just do it.

:AH-HA_wink:

He still wants a Miata and he still has the Gutless Cutlass at home.

RWD could outnumber FWD two to one in Cory's garage...

Or if he gets a Genesis, it could be 50/50. All he would need then is an AWD Audi to have all of the bases covered.

After three hours, some bloodshed, and too many installation issues...

Renewed use of my MP3 player:

Remind me to never buy another American car again... Errr, atleast not to do another stereo installation in one. That was far too much of a pain in the ass.

Funny, I find Chryslers (at least the older ones) to have very easy wiring when it comes to stereos. The Prizm on the other hand was a nightmare.

Looks good, and you gained a storage cubby, that's even better since as I recall the Cobalt lacks places to put things.

The over-simplified wiring harness is retarded. When you have one single wire for the power source, yet the stereo has four... and they are for individual things, it just doesn't work. Every car I've done a stereo installation in has had a normal wiring harness except for this one.
