GMC Terrain Chop

13 posts in this topic

So as I stated in the reveal thread, I don't mind the rest of the body (even if the back reminds me of a Toyota Sienna), with the exception of that ugly, ugly, front end.

I did a quick chop of it last night before signing off.

agreed... that thick bland chrome bar on top of the grille is lame.

Still much better looking than the new AcCuras!!!

That fixes the only real complaint I have about the Terrain... Looks good too

Although...the more I look at it, the more I like it the way it is...oh well...I guess once their on the showroom floor I'll make my final judgement

Looks good Dodgefan! I was thinking the exact same thing, in fact I just did a chop basically the same as yours. I was about to post it up, but no need now lol.

Well, the Navigator also had a hideous chrome band at the top of the grill that they changed to body color before launch. I think this looks better.

And with that ONE adjustment, with me, it goes from stand out/potential purchase to too soft/also ran.

If I wanted a soft ute, I'd buy into the looks of the (non- Denali) Yukon.

A giant grill does not a stand out design make, IMHO.

I'd prefer the griller where it is, just without the chrome plaque atop.

Nice job DF, I like how it brings it more in line with the Sierra's grille design rather than the Yukon's grille (the production Terrain).

Now can you do another chop by either body-coloring the upper chrome trim, or remove it all together (and leave the elongated grille)???

So, you mean the chrome frame of the entire grill? The upper grill is trimmed to be the same width as the rest of the chrome trim on the grill. What you see up top is light hitting the paint. I know at a glance it looks like part of the grill, but it isn't. I could darken it a bit if you like to eliminate the optical illusion...if that's what you're referring to..

See the large upper chrome part of the grille on the hood in this picture:

Either get rid of the chrome and have just the painted hood, or paint the chrome body color.
